Default I hereby declare....

Today is official ifish line changing day!
Strip all the line of your steelhead reels, and either put on new, or at least reverse it.
Then, as long as you have them out, clean them!
Then, as long as your rods are out, clean the corks and remove all traces of herring scales and egg goop!
This is a direct order!

Uh.....yes ma'am

Even if I had all of my rods here at the office, I don't think anyone else would appreciate tripping over the piles of slinky looking mono covering the entire floor

Jen,
We are on the same page on this one!! I just came in from the shop with all of my reels...its a down day...clients canceled..hmmm wonder why?? So...I stand beside you on your declaration.

Reel Repair?? Frank at Fish Country on the Cowlitz is reel reasonable...I have a couple of reels going to him today! Plus he fixed my epix 30 handle problems!

Think I'll turn around my tuff and fire line before I'll give up on it. What is the miracle solvent for that herring scale glue anyway.

yup, planning to respool my bobber rod with fireline this week. think i'll stick with the line on my steelie/coho rod. i just respooled for the coho run. never heard about reversing your line. i'll keep that in mind next year for the bobber rod.

yes ma'am. getting to it. gotta make some pies tonight. maybe tomorrow. definitely this week. i promise.

Herring scale removal: Fingernails!
Kinda fun! Sit around, watch TV, and pick herring scales off your rod.
Except then they are on your couch...
and the floor...
and the coffee table...
