IFish hats?
Jennie,
Have you thought of doing this lately? We can't let Piscatorial Pursuits be the only place with hats. I would be interested in a few. Anybody else?

Re: IFish hats?
I just spent 500 bucks on decals, I can't afford them quite yet.
If anyone would like to take over this project, I would do anything to help. I just don't have the budget right now.
If anyone knows how to start something like this on no budget, let me know!
I know several people have come to me wanting these. I would love it!
Actually, I had one made for Bill!

Re: IFish hats?
The hat could read...
ifish.net
Fear no Fish
Oh wait...that might be illegal...
I think to pull this off we would all have to prepay...that way there is no need for a budget.
I might be able to get prices.

Re: IFish hats?
If we could get enough pre-paid i have a vendor who would eat the art and set-up charge. a good quality hat with a great logo would run in the $8 range. the hat i buy for my company has 22,000 stitches and runs $8.40 each. and thats on a nice winter style hat.

Re: IFish hats?
I am in for that price...plus I think we need to add some to that for shipping and to help out ifish.net. Would $15 be to much?? I haven't bought a hat in years so I don't know.

Re: IFish hats?
the maker has to send out the art work and have it digitalized. I'm not saying anything is wrong with the logo, but given the chance i think i'd jazz it up some with a few colors,,, then again thats just my .02

Re: IFish hats?
Bumper Chrome - Go back and re-read the original design of the ifish logo. It took months and lots of input from lots of people. There were feelings hurt and disagreement about what it should look like. It was a cool community project, but what somebody likes, somebody else doesnt.
You shouldnt have to read more than about 30 or 40 threads with about 20 post per thread.

Jim,
We fish all night and sleep all day. It is hard to hunt around here as all the rich people have tied up the farmland with leases. Pay to hunt but it is expensive.

I think it is neat that you guys want to do this.
Makes me smile and I want to smile!
Does someone have a lead?
I have talked to a couple companies, and I have their stuff somewhere... Let me look....
Or better yet, write to me!
I was offered some really good deals, but it was always during a busy time.

Re: IFish hats?
I talked to my vendor and its very do-able for around the $8 mark maybe less. it all depends on how many stitches is in the logo. i coppied and pasted the logo in nanooks post. but its not clear enough to send off. pre-pay would need to be a must. my fear would to have a long time member away and not being able to partake. it was mentioned to add some coin to help out the board. meybe we could invest that in a couple extra hats and sell them for the boost the board could use. min. order for best pricing and possiblility of eating art and set-up is 36 hats. which from the look of it that shouldn't be a problem,
FNF has already volunteered to lick the stamps

Re: IFish hats?
I'd go for a good quality one like an oilskin.
Additionally, I know Greg who organizes the "Hogs-and-Dogs" event every year on the Willamette. He has a great contact for good quality stiched hat. Let me know if you guys want me to check on another source if necessary. I'm in for a hat up to $20.

Re: IFish hats?
Lets do it!! Have you really looked at the going price for your average hat these days? I pay an average of $20 a hat these days and would be more than willing to pay that for an Ifish hat in a heart beat. I am in no problem and have been looking for a new fishing hat anyways!!

Re: IFish hats?
Yes yes yes. I want........no I NEED a Ifish hat.
I agree about the quality. A good oil skin, or the newer dual colored hats are good. I use different hats for various seasons so different hat materials would be nice.
The issue about color is easily solved. The logo does not have to be green, instead, the thread color is matched to coordinate with the hat color. Like a black hat with red or gold thread. Green with black or gold thread, etc.....
Can we make a small change without offending anyone. Instead of a round circle, could we make the logo oblong for the hats? Thought this would match the hat profile better, the correct proportions are important too.......right?
Twenty dollars works for me........I'll take a dozen, Christmas is coming.
Gregg

Can I wear the hat even if I almost never fish the coast? Seems so directed towards a few. Same thing happened with the stickers. Hard to put one on the boat when it's always in the Clackamas.

Re: IFish hats?
Someone might talk to Marty over at Steelheader.net. He put together an order of nice oil skin hats with the steelheader.net logo on them. We all prepaid for these and then he ordered them. I can't remember, but I think they were about $17.00 plus another buck or two for freight. Marty might share some information on who the vendor was.

Re: IFish hats?
The new decals have "FISHING THE COAST" removed.
It just doesn't apply to all, even though that was the original name of the site.
I would suggest the hats logo do the same...

Re: IFish hats?
I'm willing get involved in this,,,,, BUT,,,, we need to keep it simple. multi-colors with varing thread colors would be a nightmare. possible but scary.. the logo on *** CLERK's post looks great.
however we need to decide if we want it to be a full logo like a patch or a outline using the color of the hat as back ground. if we act soon we may be able to get OL' Glory on the side or back at no extra cost.

Re: IFish hats?
First of all, I'm in for a couple hats.
Second, I think they should be $20 dollars, with the profit going directly to Jen's ops costs.
Thirdly, patches on hats look like **** . I vote for stitching the logo on, in a single color, onto a good quality COTTON hat. IMHO oilskin hats don't breath at all, if the sun is even thinking of coming out there is sweat building up on your head. You could do the two tone deal with the bill and body of the hat, those seem to look alright.
And that's what I think.........

My favorite (most comfortable) is my Les Schwab Wild Country hat from a company (Go USA?) out of Wenatchee @ 1-800-274-6872. I have worn a million hats in my life and this one blows them all away in comfort and quality. Would love to have another with Ifish.net.

Re: IFish hats?
I also would like to throw my name into the hat as a buyer...(no pun intended)
I am way too new to this board to give any suggestions or input into the fashion design...frankly, if it keeps my noggin kinda dry or out of the sun, I am ecstatic...
Maybe Jen should just decide what type and the coloring and we will all trust her feminine intuition?
Just a thought,

Is it possible to get a wool hat for winter that is sized? The one size fits all with an adjustable strap is ok, but the sized hats are warmer and better quality.

Re: IFish hats?
Try this web site. They quote the following:
1. Just upload your artwork, set your prices and you're ready to start selling.
2. Get a free online store to showcase your merchandise.
3. We handle all orders, manufacturing, and shipping.
This way, no one at ifish or Jen has to worry about orders, money or mailing.

Their products include ceramic coffee mugs, shirts, t-shirts, hats, baby t-shirts, tote bags, sweat shirts, mouse pads, boxer shorts, etc.

No, I have no connection with cafepress, I just remembered using them to get a coffee mug from this other e-club I belong to. The prices seem resonable and I can attest that the ship/receive time frame was rather fast.
Other groups that use this cafepress are:
Wildlife Conservation Society
PAX TV
Angelwish
They say they have over 190,000 stores (sites) listed.
Jen, I refered them to you. If you don't like, no biggee.

Re: IFish hats?
Jen
Remember there are 2 types of hats the golf style that has high dome. The Baseball style that is lower dome and fits better, so I think. The Baseball style just stays on better on windy days.
No oil for me also, I just ditched my Filson that was Oil... so sweaty, they just don't breathe.
Stitch the logo...
Color of the hat?? I vote for Olive green or tan.I might use it as waterwowl hat at times also.

Re: IFish hats?
...just as long as they aren't that nasty "camouflage" day-glow orange with ear flaps! ... or a propellor ... or neck shade ... or electric fan ... or fish-through-the-head ... or tie-died ... OK, natural fiber, muted, natural colors would be nice. It'd be nice if it holds up in the laundry, too.

Re: IFish hats?
Come on now Pete,
How about the hats that hold two beer cans with the straws so you can have your hands free to fight fish? That would work wouldn't it? As long as you stay away from Tillamook bay while you are wearing it.
