Re: OHA Convention?
I will be there and if you want to go be sure and get your ticket request in early as it sells out. There will be an OHA general membership meeting in the afternoon.
Capitol Chapter OHA has a fundraiser on March 15th. First item to go is a two day hunt for free ranging red deer in New Zealand. If interested in a phone bid PM me. A great hunt I had lunch with the guide today he was on his way to PDX from the Centeral Oregon Show. I hunted with him two years ago and the guy that hunted with him last year was with us for lunch.

Re: OHA Convention?
General membership meeting is at 1 PM.
The state board meeting is all day before the Convention. I will be there.
I do not think you can buy tickets at the door. Call OHA Office in Medford and see if any available.

I did NOT say it was cheaper; I said it was more fun.
Should I wear my iFish beanie so you'll know who I am in the crowd?
I used it up in NE Oregon two weeks ago; kept me nice and warm.

As the Banquet Chair for the host Lincoln County Chapter I can tell you, it will be a lot of fun!
More items that ever to win or buy, doors open at 5:00 PM,
At last check there WERE still some tickets left, seems the cost of fuel must be bothering some people! I can't imagine why??
But you can call the state office and check, if there are tickets then they will still sell them!!
PM me if you need the phone number.

Keep up the good work Mike; taxidermy will probably seem like a walk in the park compared to that job.

Re: OHA Convention?
If you are going to the OHA Convention, why not drop by the General Membership meeting at 1:00? That's when the OHA President takes over and talks directly to any members who wish to be there. The board is there, too, so you can talk to any and all of them all in one location. The purpose is to give any OHA members who wish to attend direct access to the President, the rest of the officers, and the board of directors.

Anyone know who won the statewide or NE elk raffle tags? I donated a couple hundred $$ in pursuit of the dream.

If I remember right, A.J. dropped 30k on the bighorn raffle last year and never got the tag! I can't even comprehend...

Re: OHA Convention?
I sat at the table with Alfredo and his two friends. nice enough guy. Just more money than most of us. He didn't reveal too much about how many sheckels he laid down to win those tags. remember that he won the goat tag last year...
he mentioned that he has a few other hunts planned this year:stone sheep, grizzley, Arizona elk (14yrs of drawing), etc... Plus now he has bighorn and oregon Statewide combo deer/elk.
I can't even comprehend.
He does all his hunting with a bow also. Adds to the bighorn challenge. He said he took his goat last year with a bow.
Anyway we should be thankful for people like him. the money does go to a very good cause. Unfortunately they make the odds bad for the average guy, but the point is to raise money not to give away tags.
Shawn.
