Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
Can you say BLOWN OUT. 7' and going straight up. At 11pm Tuesday the major precip. is just hitting the North coast plus More on Thursday . I would be pleasently suprised if the Wilson is fishable before Sun. That is how I see it.

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
The Kilchis is no longer a stream!
It is at my lawn!!! ARGH!
I have to go get a root canal in Portland,
We have high tide at 11ish, and 8.8.
Send the kids to school with life jackets and go?
Do I really WANT a root canal?
whattodo....

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
The rivers are up, I need to look for the positive.
- No sandbars to drag the boat over
- Bottom of boat wont get all scratched up
- Little to no rowing required between boat ramps
- Mini whitewater experience
- More available water to fish
- Few to no other anglers until the rivers drops
- Available good parking at the boat ramp
- The river will be full of fish
- No low water stealth required, you could bring a marching band and no bait, it wont affect the chances of catching a fish for the next few days :depressed:

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
The Wilson River is at 13.54 and expected to crest at 14.00 feet today. Well its already crested here!!!!
The river is coming across our road and filling up like a giant lake in my back yard
(at the Tillamook Bait Shop) on the Wilson River Loop Road. Be careful high water can ruin your cars.
I want to go out and take pictures with my digital camera and post the pictures on my web site. Click on the links where it says
Maries Products page. The one that posts
fishing pictures.
Its a slow web site to boot up so be patienct when viewing pictures.
Well here I go...

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
I got turned around at 101...
It's over the road in Tillamook, and getting deeper by the second. I went through it once, and then I couldn't get back through.
Had to go around...
First boat down the river?
I already saw it!
Someone's boat must have gotten loose from the shore or something...
Old rotten one, but nonetheless, a boat.
What is gross is Sollie Smith. The porta potty is flooded. :depressed:

If we don't get much more rain, what's your guess about how long it will be before the Kilchis is fishable?

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
SJP
I would definately think it wont even be close to fishable until monday and that has a lot of variables, Defineately a best case scenario, with no rain between now and then.
(personally I will probably give it a shot this weekend if it doenst rain much between now and then, if I was wrong I will let you know on Monday you are late )

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
I would say.... maybe Friday, Saturday? It clears pretty quickly.
I may even plunk a spin glo tomorrow, if there is not much more rain... But I think there will be. What's the latest forecast?

The Chehalis at the town of Chehalis is up and out of its banks...this is one of the fastest I have seen. Three years ago this thanksgiving we had similar water.
Be careful out there!!

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
The weather seems to have calmed down tonight.
My question is, Is there more rain coming for tomorrow on thursday?
Captain Dennis was NOT able to get out and harvest bait today!
So will it rain more or is it over with?

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
The Wilson River this morning is 9.54 and dropping fast.
I just found out another storm is coming in for today bringing lots more rain.
So I will keep my eye on the river gauge through-out the day.
And more rain is expected ALL next week.
High wind warning today of 65 mph on the coast.
Not much of a fishing day is it??
My lake in my back yard disappeared over night.
Things are getting back to normal.
The iron bench that blew off my deck yesterday weighed 100 pounds! And the wind just blew it off like nothing.. Amazing!
I guess I will just have to wait it out and get back to work. Someone braught me eggs to cure up so I guess I better go.
Thanks,
Marie

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
The Wilson was at 9.54 and now its 9.22 but according to the graph the water level just started going UP again.
I really don't think it will be fishable by sunday. Maybe monday or tuesday if it stops raining.
But like I said more rain is coming...
It just depends if the storms miss us.
How likely is that?
Has anyone seen the logs that are coming into the bays yet?. Near Cape Look Out?
Watch out for those LOGS!
Thats one thing we are nervous about in Tillamook Bay at night time! You can't see them! Until you hit them! UGGG they are hard on props...
They said to watch for them in Nehalem too. Has anyone seem them? (LOGS)
Thanks in advance,
Marie

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
I took NEW Kilchis River Pictures today.
I had several calls today asking to see what the river looks like from the LOG BRIDGE.
So I sneaked away at around 3:30pm today and took some river pictures.
You can view them on
Maries Second new products page LINK.
Its located at the bottom of my web page.

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
I will try and take pictures of the Kilchis again today to let people know what the water looks like. I will post them on my web site like before.
The wilson is at 8.0 feet right now (friday 7am)
Cap Dennis will try and get bait tonight, but it doesn't look good, yet!
Thanks,
Marie

What about the logs in the water? Can't be the same logs spilled in the ocean is it? Thought those logs were further north.

Re: The Rivers are coming up fast!!
The logs that are there now are logs that got blown out from the rivers. I saw hundreds of logs come down the Wilson River on Nov 15th all day long!
Watch out for them logs...
Dennis hit a log already and broke his prop.
Expensive critters to get replaced or fixed.
Thanks,
Marie
