Default truck broken into!

yesterday my dads truck was broken into at gearhart (?sp) boat launch on the cowlitz. they managed to pry the canopy window open and took a bunch of stuff he had stored in the truck box he had in the back of the truck. so if anyone is launching there you might want to have a watchful eye out, and not leave anything of value in your rig. Seems that this launch is hit a couple times every year, but this is the first time for my dad, needless to say he's pretty *******! these guys will probably never get caught, but man i sure hope some fisherman catches these guys and teaches them a lesson!

It's pretty sad isn't it. Over the years I've had my truck hit 3 times. 2x at Feildheimers, and 1x at Carver. They got good prints off mine and Wayne Priddy's truck on one occation, but no conviction cause the persons prints were"not on file"....At Carver, in the middle of the parking lot w/ rigs all around me, they broke my license plate holder to pull my plates out, so they could take tin snips to cutt the corners out off the plates to steel my tags. When I called Clack.Co Sher. they refused to take a report because "they didn't steel the plates", so "they really didn't take anything. The Lady that I talked with has an accent, and a very different name. I was so PO'd I didn't write her name down.
Point-- We all need to watch each others backs.
Vehicals that look out of place, w/ people just looking around or "hanging out" are possibles. Make it a point to take notice everytime/all the time, and write down Lic. #'s when you leave your truck. We might luck out some day.

Yep, I've been there before.
Back when I fished Caz I got hit a few times. What I ended up doing was backing up against a power pole, which made it almost impossible to get in the back of my truck. If they have to spend too much time I think it discouarges them.
Every now and then I hear about someone catching a jerk ripping 'em off. Funny they don't say much about pressing charges. Spoke with a police up in Estacada, he told me ..."you can use what ever force needed to bring them in"... and something about, ..."it would be a shame if they happen to fall down a few times on the way in"...

So this brings up a good question,
Will Lamiglas warranty a rod that you broke while giving some guy a beating????
Just a thought.

Chum salmon,

Where is gearhart launch on the cowlitz ? I have heard of barrier dam, blue creek, mission ,olequa launch.. ..Just curious? Blue creek launch is always a good place to get your truck broke into they seem never to catch anybody..

the boat launch i'm talking about is almost at the mouth of the cowlitz, you can see it as you go over the freeway bridge heading into longview, going toward industrial way. pretty popular place during the summer.
