Default Who supports IFISH sponsors?

I picked up a couple reels this weekend at the tackle swap and needed to put line on them for use this weekend.

I usually go to Fishermans Marine since it is as close to my house as any of the sporting good stores, and they probably have the best selection since the fishing section is just plain more footage of aisles and shelves.

I hit IFISH today to see what was going on in cyber fishland and saw the advertisement by GI Joes. Tonight I went to GI Joes to get line spooled on the 2 reels, since they have been nice enough to help support IFISH. $32 bucks later I got out of the store.

I have also bought shrimp from TBC on occasion in the past, and will probably pick up some this weekend if they are open when I am going thru town.

Lamiglass has been getting my money for years. You would think I would have some stock in that store somehow.

Sorry Willie, I already own all the aluminum I need for now.

Who else supports the IFISH sponsors?

Lets see:

I use (not exclusively) Okuma reels

I use (not exclusively) Lamiglass rods

My last drift boat was a Willies

I was in a GI Joe's once

All I need now is Power Pro line to sponsor and Tie Master knot tool also!

Joe's gets a lot of my money. I have a okuma reel and they would be on the short list for another if I needed one. I also have a tough okuma pole my wife likes to use. Don't forget bait bait and more bait. I am a fiberglass guy so willy does not make my type of boat. Also am a borax type of guy but the reports on amerman may get me to convert. And last but not least Shilo gets my money once a year or so. There has to be more but that is all I can think of right now.

1) I own several Lamiglas rods, 2) buy a lot of gear at the new GI Joes in Sherwood, 3) own two
Alumaweld boats, 4) my fishing partner's egg cure always out fishes Amerman's so I use his. Two out of four ain't bad.

I go to GI Joes way too much even when another place might have it for cheaper. Joes has all kinds of sports and auto gear the family uses regularly.I am fortunate to only have 2 Lamiglass poles one that needs repair. I have a Okuma reel. I regularly use and loose Mustad hooks. Went out on the Tiki Charter boat after the chinook reopened on the ocean. That is about it.

1.Tillamook Bait , 1 Willie Boat, Mustad Hooks (Sturgeon Hooks and trebles only - everything else VMC cone cuts). GI Joes (only when I am in a hurry and can't make it to Fisherman's). 8 Lamiglas rods and now that Loomis sold out, I will be buying all Lami from now on. I have fished with a guide that advertises on here once and it was a great experience (Sorry I missed ya this fall Marty).

Hey, I thought this was a support thread ...

Willie boats: I've had my 16'x54" for 15 years.
Lamiglass: Magnum Esprit!
Tillamook Bait: Hard to beat the scents!
G I Joe's: How can you avoid it?
Tackle Time: fresh herring anyone?
Mustad: ... love those florescent ultra points for silvers!
Holdzit: Gee, Pat, I have to put oil in it?
The Guides Forecast: Is it Thursday yet?

I support almost all of them, but not because they are ifish sponsors, because they sell, make or provide excellent products.
Joe's will never again get one of my pennies. I've waited in their lines and put up with their lack of stock for way to many years. I put my foot down a couple of weeks ago, even though I now have to drive clear out to Fisherman's.

GI Joes...they don't have quite the selection. But, if it is 'in-stock', it is usually cheaper than Fishermans.

Lamiglas rods, almost exclusively.

Willie Boats....well, at least back when Willie used to work for ALUMAWELD !

I am an avid Lamiglas fan, shop GI Joe's, and use Mustad hooks.

Willie calls my boat an "Alumapuke". I tell him, "yea, but you designed it!!"

I support Gi Joes but am starting to wonder why. They discriminate against us fat people. They always run out of sale items in the larger sizes. Can anyone from Gi joes tell us why they do this? If they are not going to have the larger sizes in s decent quanity then say so in the add, so I dont get my hopes up and waste gas going there.

I spend a good share at GI Joes. The other is with Baxters custom tackle. Here in Eugene area we don't have that great of a selection as up north. Have the same complaint Robert with GI Joes, but my problem is they don't carry anything in Kids or small sizes!

I get the feeling that most of you, OK, some of you don't really like GI Joe's. Sorry Jen, I'm not trying to knock ifish sponsors. And maybe some of the other GI Joe's stores are better. I'm refering to the 82nd Powell (Eastport Store)
If you went in there 6-8 years ago, you would have found several fishermen behind the counter. Guys that loved to fish, or should I say lived to fish. Now it's, "well, aaaaa, yeah, aaaa, I got a Salmon 2 years ago while plunking a spin-n-glo and eggs up on the Clackamas" (sorry tony)

I know that retail is a tough business to be in. That's why I left it. They'll never get and keep good employees-guys that are crazy about fishing, when they start 'em out at $7.25 and 3 years later they're only making $7.85. One employee that I spoke with just had her 7 yr anniversary and just got a raise up to $8.00/hr.

I'll get off my soap box.
Yes I still shop there, because it's 5 minutes away. But I know not to ask technical questions.

OK Jen, I'll redeem myself
I do own 5 Lamiglas rods

Straydog, if you consider Washington state as being imported from then I guess you're right. I've owned loomis rods before and after the merger and actually think they are better rods now with the fuji components. If you think otherwise please fill me in as to why.

There is nothing wrong with the Loomis at all that I am aware of.

I do wish they used distributors though!

Just bought 2 Okuma's thru Jennie's link, have used Tillamook bait for years(even used to shuttle with 'em), Joe's is the only game in town, wouldn't leave home without my IM700 lami, bought some cure from Scott right about the time he announced he was selling it, and I'm currently a subscriber with TGF. Not too sure about the Willie's thing, I miss my Fish Rite.
