BBQ on the boat?
Folks,
Doesn't someone make a bracket to hold a Weber "Go Anywhere" gas grill on the side of the boat? These are the rectangular grills that run on the disposable propane bottles. The bracket holds the grill over the water, outside of the boat (fastened to the railing or gunnel).
I'm looking for one of these brackets, so if anyone can point in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I'll check with my Dad, don't think it's Weber, but it is on the railing.

Re: BBQ on the boat?
I made my bracket for one of the cheaper rectangular grills, also at joes. fits in a pole holder tipped straight up, and works very good.

Re: BBQ on the boat?
Thanks, I'll swing by there today and see what they have. How does the grill do in the wind while I'm at it??? Does it blow out or really cool down and slow the cooking time??

Re: BBQ on the boat?
My wife bought a Weber at a garage sale for a few bucks. So I made a platform to hold it in place using one of the Scotty rod holder mounts that we have on the rear rails.
I started with getting an aluminum cookie sheet. Then I put together a support frame using 1/2" PVC pipe and fittings with the center having a 2" piece that slides into the rod holder. The cookie sheet is screwed onto the PVC and I have clips that hold the Weber's legs in place.
Once everything has cooled off I can close up the Weber put the holder away and I am back to an uncluttered fishing area.
I have found that the wind isn't much of an issue if you have the lid on the BBQ. I tried to heat a pot of chili with the lid off in the wind and that didn't work to well.

Shaker King: What kind of clips hold the grill on? I would think you would want them pretty stout.

Thats what we do. If I'm using the BBQ I set it on the bow. If I'm using the Coleman 2 burner stove I set it on a cooler to get it up off the floor a ways.
Works for us.

Re: BBQ on the boat?
I use a weber Q100 grill. Its a little spendy at just over $100 and a little heavy, but it cooks REALLY well. It is very stable and also does not get warm at all on the bottom. You could set it on a seat if you wanted to.. I just set it on the dog house. Infact I run the boat with it sitting on my dog house and it has never moved on me. I tow with the bbq sitting right on top of the dog house and it never moves. Sweet little bbq!
