KJ's boat shop visit, chow, fish
A few people asked about the new boat and some even went to look. March 8th is a Saturday. Capt Kujo will be at the shop at the Tillamook naval air station to show off the boat and answer questions. Me too. He bribed me with a fishing trip.
Now for the fishing part of the post. We are thinking about PC off the beach if the surf allows it for a little bottom fishing and dory running.
KJ will fill in the details.
Any dory guys out there want to fish off PC?

Re: KJ's boat shop visit, chow, fish
Well that's it in a nut shell. Saturday March 8 at the Tillamook factory located behind the Tillamook Air Museum address is 6260 Blimp Blvd #71.
Want to do a quick nickel tour of the factory, and then Pilar and I will be heading to my PC HQ to engage in some dory fishing activities. If there are others interested in going along I'll see about how many of my other dory pals might want to take some salty dogs for some dory action off the beach. THIS ACTIVIY IS TOTALLY WEATHER DEPENDENT!! So until we get a look at the surf we just won't know. I suspect 3 or 4 more dorys will be available if there is interest.
I'm also going to throw a dead animal on the Trager (BBQ) and plan on having a small picnic. If you think you're interested in joining us or just want to see Pilar's new boat in production RSVP oin this thread and we'll keep posting updates.
Be sure to bring your questions and appetite.
Hope to see many of the brother "dogs" on the 8th.

Exactly what time on Saturday? 0600? 0900? I would be willing to make the drive to look but I have an appointment at 0830 in Forest Grove. I probably wont get there until 1030 or later.

Sorry Captain.... Can not make the tour on Saturday... got to work on the "Boat Barn" on Saturday. Thursday was a nice day at the Jetty at Barview, speared some Lings and got a few crabs.

Re: KJ's boat shop visit, chow, fish
You guys have a good time! Wish I could come but I have a meeting with the contractor about my new house. It would be cool to see it in the build stage but I'll have to settle for seeing the finished product this summer.

Re: KJ's boat shop visit, chow, fish
I will post photos as soon as they get to my inbox. We *looked* at the ocean at the dory beach. Way too much with waves breaking through the jug handle once a minute.
Then 3 of us went clamming at Long beach. 6 clams between the lot of us. I must admit that one clam I took home was tasty.
The boat is coming together. And now all the decisions start ramping up. Already added 2nd fuel tank, 3rd battery and 3rd fish box. Looks ilke 220 gallons of fuel and 170 gallons of fishbox. Also water tank (40 gallons), head with a door for the ladies and some pumps under deck. I am doing a plan for the cockpit and cabin and getting the list of stuff and where it will go.
Thanks KJ for the entertainment and smoked pork chops.

Re: KJ's boat shop visit, chow, fish
Latest shots from get together on 3/8/08. Hard to see but most of the under deck is welded out. It won't be long before the deck goes on. I have to help KJ figure out what goes under the deck before then. And of course where it goes and what the access will look like. The fish boxes are (2) 35 gallon, one on each side in the cockpit and (1) 100 gallon center aft. A second fuel cell is added under the deck in the cabin. We also found a place to put a 40 gallon water tank and an enclosed head. In about two weeks the deck goes on.
