Default newbie post

Hello everyone in ifish land, been checking in from time to time and finally got around to joining. Lots of good information and discussion happen on the site and hope to jump in as often as my kids let me have computer time. I fish just about for everthing with fins from size 6/0 to 16 nymph hook. Fortunately my wife and three children love to fish, so I get to spend lots of money in the in the effort to help them catch more fish. Been doing most of my fishing for the last 10 years or so from boats, so this year I decide to get back to doing some steelhead bank fishing. Finally, this past sunday I connected with a 6 pound hatchery buck on a old rainbow birdie that I found in can in my junk from years ago. My fishing partner asked what I got it with, so I gave him one to try. We left that hole and moved up river about 10 miles and on his first cast into a spot that two guys had just left he banks a 7 pound buck. We were both Happy since these were our first fish of the season. I probably would not have tried it except for reading about their popularity with some folks her on ifish. To tell you the truth I been away from steelheading for so long I did not know they had quit making them. Well, got to get to a basketball game so that it for now hope be back soon.
