Asking for Prayer --Update 2/29--
My friend Clarissa just got word this week that her mother has bone cancer.
Clarissa has been seen on here with her first ever salmon and first ever sturgeon while fishing with me. Clarissa is the one that stood by me when my wife died. Now it is her that needs our prayers.
Please join me in praying for Clarissa as she has to deal with her mothers cancer. Pray also for her husband and her young children as this is grandma that has the cancer. I ask for a special prayer for her Mother that maybe it is not bad, maybe it is curable and maybe it is not aggressive cancer.
I have few details as Clarissa just found this out last night. I will know more later and will post here.
Thanks for your prayers.

Re: Asking for Prayer
If Clarissa has any questions about this disease, I can translate pretty well into layman's terms. Prayers on thier way!

Re: Asking for Prayer
This from Clarissa this morning.
Quote:
thanks a lot! I appreciate your prayers and thoughts!

> She has it in her skull, neck, shoulders, spine, ribs, hips, and both legs... they suspect that it is metastatic breast cancer , and they said something about adenoid carsenoma? they also said that it was unusual that there has been such a long period of time between now and the original cancer in 1997.. she will be going through 18 weeks of chemo ... every three weeks for six weeks .... lasts 5 hours per treatment ... they will do a bone scan and blood work at the ninth week and see if it is being successful and if so continue and hormone therepy... they are starting the chemo with two agents ... not really sure what that means but I was told that... if it is working the her pain level should start to subside immediately... if it is not working then they will try another form of chemo? this is all that I know.

I am still praying and appreciate all the prayers for Clarissa and her mom.
It does not sound good to me. Clarissa's sister (an RN) was with her mom at the appointment yesterday and felt like it was a good plan the doctors had put forth.
Clarissa's mom lives in Idaho so the trips to there will be a nightmare of scheduling as she has a daughter in school and a young son that also need her here.
I continue to pray for her mom.
I continue to pray for Clarissa that God will sustain her energy and comfort her as she supports both her mom and her family.
God is good. In him I trust.

Re: Asking for Prayer --Update 2/29--
One prayer has been answered. Clarissa called me this morning and a friend of a friend type thing works for a airline and has got her very cheap air fare to see her mother this weekend.
One grandma, her husband and another grandpa are taking care of things on the home front while she is gone. (this time) She will be home on Tuesday late and I will learn more then. More especially about her mom.
I thank all that have prayed for my friend and her mom.
All Praise be to God for answering these prayers.
