Default Truck Bed Coatings

I've been thinking about having the upper half of the bow of my boat coated with a truck bed spray on liner. Hopes are to minimize damage of anchor and anchor chain going over the side or coming in. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I would recommend rhino lining. The line-x has had adhesion problems. I need to do the same to my boat. The anchor can do alot of damage.

I've got an ARMA spray in liner in my 99' F250 and it has been great. Only thing I didn't care for is that it has faded to a flat finish. It has a lifetime ownwrship warr. so even if you do gouge it or tear it up somehow they will repair for no charge.

I have the Line X spray in liner in my Chev and it is tough as nails. Adhesion problems probably stem from improper installation.

My fishing partner STZ II had the bow of his boat Rhino lined. WE LOVE IT!!!! I can stand on the bow and I don't slip. There is no anchor gauging in the rubber. H have never had a problem with the lining. He liked it so much on his boat trailer he had it done to the boat. When he bought a new truck he had it done to the bed of his truck. I have a LineX in my truck and I don't see the difference yet.

I redid the whole inside of my boat with a polyurethane spray on liner. It's holding up real well, although I found out it doesn't stick to bare aluminum.

The polyurethane is very durable, but seems to be a bit slippery when wet. I think the Line-X stuff is a bit more rubbery, and would do better for traction when wet. If you can afford the Line-X or Rhino... do it.

I'd give it a "Thumbs Up".

FishinMission-

Actually, all of these poly coatings will stick to aluminum, it just takes a little prep work. Either sandblast the area to be coated, or easier for most of us, use a grinder and just rough up the surface that it will be applied to. I know, it will feel horrible looking at your boat with a grinder in hand, but once coated it sticks great, and you can't see the grindage you just did to the boat......

What does it cost to get the front bow covered? My boat is getting awfully scratched up...
Any ideas about Herculiner vs. Line-x or Rhino?
