1998 evinrude 25" to 20 " conversion

Is it possible to change a 1998 evinrude which has a 25" shaft be converted to a 20" shaft? If so roughly how much would it cost?

If it has a 5 inch spacer above the gearcase it could. However it may not be cost effective, the driveshaft and shift shaft may be one piece necessitating replacement. If it has a spacer remove the lower unit and see. If it has stub shafts you could remove them and reassemble.
