Default McNary 11-05-01 to 11-06-01

I had the pleasure of fishing with
fellow IFisher Vinny last evening. He
wanted to see what this nightfishing
was all about. He was all over it by
hooking 5 steelhead and landing 3. You
should have seen his reaction when the
first fish was coming up from the
depths with the blinking red light
hanging out from it's mouth. It was
too funny. The weather was colder then
hades. Remember when I said Oregon had
such a nice boat launch area? I lied.
It seems they take out almost all of
the dock area every Oct. 31st. When
you launch your boat now, you have a
20 foot area to tie up to. That really
makes a lot of sense when you have the
busiest part of the steelhead season
going on. Wake up ODFW!

Thanks Steve,
What a great time. Looking for your fish and seeing a flashing red light was just too funny. We had give the first one a little extra time just so I could laugh a little longer at the flashing lure with fish attached.

Steve is being modest, 2 of the 3 we landed were on his rod which he handed off to me.

At about 2 am I needed to call it quits. Steve dropped me off at the boat ramp, then went back out to enjoy the rest of the night alone.

Steve, what happened in the wee hours of the morning after I left?

Careful Vinny, that kind of stuff is very addictive. We're talking about doing it again. How many boats were on the water? I hear its getting a little crowded on friday and Saturday nights?

I've been reading FNF's posts on this fishery and it sure sounds interesting! That must be quite a sight to see a light coming up and running all over the place at night and knowing there is a fish, just sounds soooo coool.

Keep up those post, I enjoy reading them. If you would ever want to trade a drift trip on the Oregon coast for a night fish trip, please let me know.

Vinny,
2 on, 2 landed. 1 was a 14 pound hatchery, the other a native.
Bumper Chrome,
It really is a hoot fishing at night! See ya on the water.
FM2,
The best part of the season is usually in Oct., but with the large amount of steelies in the system it is still paying off. We will have to hook up for a trip!
