Maiden Voyage for the New Boat

Took the new to me boat out today, a 24ft Osprey I brought back from the east coast. I got it on Thanksgiving, then it went to the shop. Today was the day for the maiden voyage. Launched it with only minor problems. Started it to warm up and check for any leaks or signs of danger, after 10 minutes, no problems so we were off.

Went downriver slowly to get used to the boat, then went up to 20 mph on plane. Played with the trim tabs, finally made it to the main river, and opened her up. Going upriver I was able to do 35 mph, downriver I hit 41.

Everything seems to be working well. Logged 2 hours and couldn't be more pleased. I have some more projects to get her ready for tuna, but so far so good!!! 3 months and counting....

Good Luck with your new boat. You'll probably have some kinks to work out, but I'm sure it will be ready by tuna time.
