Default Fishery bait shop

I plan on heading to the Gorge to put a dent in the sturgies and was wondering when the bait store opens up. I remember it opening at 5:00 A.M in the spring but last time I was there, it wasn't open until later. Thanks in advance for the info. I plan on fishing around Butler's Eddy and around the falls. Anyone doing any good around the wall? Thanks..........

I was up there yesterday. We lauched at about 6:15 in the morning. No sign of life yet. Had to put the launch fee in the night drop. Didn't notice a sign as to when they opened. You can give them a call at 541-374-8577. I believe that is the number. Someone posted it here on the site a while back.

Hey guys, I'll remind you when the smelt run in a few months. In the meantime go to Costco and get a vacuum sealer and some bags. We actually had a smelt run last year. Maybe we will have one this year too.

Personally, if I ever pay $1 a bait again it will be too soon.

Friends don't let friends use crappy bait.

Pilar, If you are running short on smelt give me a call. I still have tons of it and it is in great shape. I usually don't start the sturg thing until Feb after I get done with my waterfowl extermination for the season.

Pilar,

What's the markup on the smelt you're sellin'? Have you kept it frozen since you picked it up from C.D.? :-)... just goofin', but I've got my fingers crossed for another good smelt run. My supply is getting pretty lean.

The store was opening before 6 am. I heard the managers are on vacation and someone else is tending shop for awhile. Maybe they don't get up as early. Probably worth a phone call to see when they open, and when the managers will be back.

Thanks guys. With the 10# limit it took a few trips but I've got a freezer full of smelt. There is no substitute for Cowlitz river smelt.
