Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
LAMIGLAS has recently shown interest in ifish, and will soon be sponsoring our main page and bulletin board!
I am very excited to try their
Esprit Collection.
Please welcome them, and know that they are supporting our community activities, and helping to fund our site.
Isn't about time you tried a Lami again?
I'm going to!

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
I have some of everything, but I love my Magnum Esprit Graphite which is over 20 years old. I love the feel for drifting. Sensitive enough to feel the tap tap tap, but firm enough to put the hurt on an angry metal head and handsome with it's gold thread highlights. Glad to have another quality sponsor helping support this board.

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
I have rod racks lining both sides of my garage. 90% of the graphite there is Lami-Brand ! Good local folks, who are usually quite easy to deal with.
Matter a fact...they just replaced a 'Certified Pro - Back Bouncer' for me this past month. Sooner or later, every rod will break. The outfit backing up the warranty does matter.
WELCOME LAMIGLAS

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
I'm a religious Lamiglas user....I've been hooked for years. Love the Salmon Moocher series for trolling, and my Medium/Heavy for steelies. I was hooked when I broke a 4 pc #5 Lami Fly Rod 15 years ago, and although they didn't make the 4 piece anymore, they promptly replaced it with a nicer 2-piece fly rod. (I do miss that 4 piece rod though!) Great rods, moderate price and backed by great service. Can't go wrong with that combination.

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
I have several Lami's and really enjoy them, nice rods. One of the best features of this brand is their warranty. I have broken a few in my time and this has to be the most pleasant and customer oriented company I have ever dealt with. This includes all other consumer products I have. They are really concerned about your satisfaction and will go the extra to be sure you are pleased.
A Happy Lami customer !!

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
Those Esprits are sweet. My buddy has a couple older ones that are very nice. However their lower priced stuff is less than desirable. I have a "Norwest Special" that is so special that I won't take it fishing with me. Parr lumber sells 2x4s with more sensitivity. $120 isn't alot of money for a drift rod I know. But I did expect a tad more. I used it twice and was totally disappointed. Does their warrantee include refunds? Wouldn't that be nice? Maybe since they'll be a sponsor, Jen could put a word in for me!

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
I have my Kenia killer and three northwest speicals one for steelhead and two med's. They have been great.
I won one during a raffle three years ago and when I managed to break it. I took it into the factory to have it replaced. There I was informed that it was a second and therefore not usually replaced. The customer service guy however picked out another new second and replaced it with that one. I then immediately purchased another lami in support of great customer service.
On the funny side when he ask how I broke the med light I told him on a springer that was tryin to make a run into some pillings. He told me that it was a little lite for springers that it was really a steelhead rod. My reply was that the springers were averaging 10 to 16 lbs and that when I target steelhead that I fish for 30 pounders. He laughed and said don't we all. Great customer service. Thanks for coming on board guys.

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
I have nothing but lami's. I do get quite a bit of ribbing from my fishing buddies. They have many different kinds and can't seem to get on to one brand, they say each type of fishing takes a different rod, therefor a different brand?????????

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
Lami-
Thanks for making my certified-pro, Zog rod. Though it was way too meaty for my liking on the winter steelies.
The rod's name is Jimmy King and he's gonna ruuule you. W.W.K.D. It has taken many many many salmon this year down to the dungeon and made them into his royal puppydog bee yatches.
I'm still lukewarm as to their "Warranty Service". Maybe you guys went on a different day than I, but when I took 2 rods down there to be warranty'd, I got the run-around that I shouldn't be fishing chums with an 8-12lb rod.
Of course in my defense I said, "Well people shouldn't be Marlin fishing with a flyrod, but you still sell them the rod."
He then gave me a lecture on the "proper" angles at which the lamiglas rod is to be held and that since the rod was "obviously" faulty not due to manufacturer's defects, but rather the angle the rod was held when broken.
"I'm sorry." I told him. "But where in the warranty does it list the proper angles at which you are to hold said rod? Maybe you could bring a supervisor over here to show me in writing?"
I've heard other stories about this same guy doing the same thing to other people when they go to collect on the warranty. This was in the spring when I went, so hopefully things have changed.
I know I like the rods I have. And I've had wonderful dealings with everyone else down there except for that one time. I have a rod that needs to be serviced, so I'll post about how well it went in getting the proper service that's stated in writing. Lord knows I only drop $300 every time I walk into Sportco, so I think keeping someone like me happy wouldn't seem like going out of your way.
I've seen several spinning rods they have in the bins down there at the factory that make me sing this song, "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas."

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
Cannot find a thing wrong with Lami. The warranty is excellent and the rods are superb. I must have over a half dozen, Kenai Kings, Kenai Killer, Kenai Guides, Med, Med heavys, and a couple of Esprits. Just a great company!

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
I have so many Lamiglas Rods I lost track years ago. I love them, great rods!! I've only broken one, a Fly Rod on a huge Chum, many moons ago. I can say they stood behind it, and replaced it with a brand new one. Welcome Lamiglas!! Thanks for supporting I-Fish!!

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
I've owned a couple G1000 steelhead rods for years without fail until last years salmon season. I managed to snap it setting the hook into a very solid fish (snag) :depressed: . I'll be the first to admit that I'm hard on fishing gear. I never store them in tubes and I leave them in my car/truck way to often. I didn't have the top piece properly seated into the butt section and it splintered some when it broke. I had walked in a ways to the spot and I didn't have a spare with me. I tried to pull out the piece that was buried in the butt section with my pliers but I gave up after the futile attempt.
I ended up using my backup Lami for the rest of the season. I finally got around to returning it to Woodland a few months later. I recieved some terrible customer service. I won't go into specifics...I've already done that before and I don't want to start a Lami-bash thread.
I ended up emailing Lamiglas about the situation. A nice man by the name of Troy Van Dinter got back to me promptly and restored my faith in Lamiglas. He went onto say that they were working on additional training in their customer service areas and from what TH went to say it apparently is paying off. It was March when all this went down and I'm glad to hear all the positives.
I love my Lamis and I think they're one of the best values on the market for quality and service.
Welcome aboard Lami!

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
Mr. "The Reel Hey Y'all".... I went through the EXACT same thing just last month, correct rod angles, appropriate rod for the right fish, etc. I was extremely displeased with putting up with the crap, however, I didn't have to pay for the replacement!! It was worth it.
My rod racks are full of Lami's, and will remain so!! I have 3 of the Kenai Special rods, my favorite for salmon trolling with light weights. Quality equipment, decent price, excellent warranty...and I can make the 20 minute drive from work to the factory, rather than waiting weeks for the dealer to send a rod off for me!!

Re: Lamiglas supports ifish and our community!
Great rods! Got my first Lamiglas back in the late 70's?? When did they start? First trip out was on the Sandy and my fishing buddy slipped in my driftboat and broke the rod. Took it to Lamiglas and they replaced it no questions. Very nice company to deal with. Have bought several over the years. Welcome Lamiglas!!

Love my Lamiglass flyrod my brother built for me. 9'6" 4-5 wieght. Nailed many a montana brown and rainbow on that rod.
Wonder if they would honor the warranty even if it was not built by them?

Good to see Lamiglas here.
The Kenai Special is the first rod I reach for when I need a salmon stick. We've bought them off the rack and built several blanks -- always solid performers.
