Default Fishing with RT and Bigstew

Sat was an excellent day to be on the water but, catching fish, that was another thing. took RT's sled into the tidewater transition of the Wilson and there were few fish to be caught. Around 10 am every one on the river was showing a big ZERO. Well steve takes us to a secret hole and just as my plug really starts thumping ... BAM! A massive strike. That fish was a real bruiser and after a terror inducing run it through the plug like Moby Dick thumbing his nose at Ahab. No problem, so we get the gear running again for not more than a min and Steve gets a savage hit but that fish was on for even a shorter time. Yes they were, a bunch of short strikers.

So now the intellegent thing to do is to get the gear right back in the hole again. We drop down and continuing with the left to right pattern it is Shanes turn for some action. And a big fatty native coho didn't let us down. The thing was so big and nickle bright. What a beauty to release.

For a day that was thin for fish Steve tricks really paid off. I don't know if it was the special sents or the hole or just the backtrolling tech that made the difference. All I know is that Steve had it right.

Good luck to all.
