Default T6 Update

Thought that I would take a moment and give you all a up date on T6.
Unlike everyone else I stayed away from the fishery and joined the small group at T6.
There were two of us in Old Bill my 16' Arima.
You name the bait and scent and we soaked it All we could turn were a few undersize, way undersize fish. We moved, then moved again, and again, On the third move and about one hour before low slack. It was tap tap and wham ! After two nice jumps and a long hard battle we got it to the boat. All in all a nice fat 51". We also saw 2 other keeper fish caught.
Can anyone out there tell me how it was up around horse tail falls ? I love to go up there but I can't deal with the wind !
Well enough out of me, thanks in advance for the Dam reports !.......Big Dave.

Horsetail falls was like glass until 10:30 this morning when a light west wind picked up. Just enough wind to put a ripple on the surface. The wife and I launched at daylight and were back at the dock at 11:00 with a 43" and a 53" keper. Also danced a bit with a 7 or 8 foot oversized til he broke my pole and line. It is quite impressive when those brutes come out of the water.

We usually launch at Cathedral Park under the St. Johns Bridge. It is a decent facility and it is maybe a 10 to 15 minute run(depending on how fast your boat is) to Kelley Point or T-6. Watch out during low tide as there is a dropoff on the down river side of the ramp.

I was up on the flats yesterday,we caught a gazillion undersize.I had taken two bags of smelt appx. 30 baits they ran us out of bait so we bought some at the fishery(smelt) man was that a mistake when ot thawed out it stunk so bad,I threw it out of the boat.We went back down to Cape Horn got a bunch more little ones then we starting getting nicer fish 36"-40" and knew we would get a keeper, FINALLY at 3:45 after fishing from 6:30 A.M. we hooked into a 51" fish put that puppy in the boat and went home to a flat tire on my boat trailer.Called my kid he brought my spare and finally got home around 6:00 P.M.Oh yea Sandshrimp was the ticket yesterday afternoon Luckily I bought some that morning didn't want to use them while we were catching all those little ones.I mean real little at the fishery area. All in all tho we had a great day catching fish.

We fished Kelly Point Sunday and it was steady once moving a couple of times. Funny that none would touch a smelt but they went for squid every time. Norm, when I take the kids up there I go from Fred's Marina in the south end of Multnomah Channel. It's a little shorter ride and a very protected launch. It does cost 5 bucks but its very safe and the folks there are always willing to help you out.
