Default Tillamook report

Fished the first hour of our trip Friday at the Oyster House then went out to the Picket Fence and out to the Sheep's Corral. Saw Bob Toman put one on the boat at the Picket Fence and that was it till I got a real dark chum on a red tipped spinner(C&R). Trolled back up to the Oyster House and saw a few more fish there. Looks like the Oyster House was the place to be. We only saw about 12 boats all day. The Memaloose lot was full of rigs and trailers. I guess they headed up tidewater. Hope to hears things get better or it looks like it might be time to winterize the boat and build furniture in the shop.

I wish our report was that good. We fished the first hours ( Nookie Monster & ladyfriend Bonnie) out at the picket fence, and only saw one caught out there (not by Bob). Went back to the oyster house area and saw a few more caught, about half dozen or so total. Same story yesterday for me in my boat, so close to the action, yet so far.
The highlight of the two days was hooking two whoppin pogeys on a kwikfish and spinner. Meeting Dan and Bonnie was pretty cool too, they are very knowlegable about driftboats, rafts, etc., and they just love to fish. Always neat to fish with new friends. Only thing that bothered me was an oblong yellow object consumed in the wee hours of the morning, couldn't stop breakfast before it was too late. Oh well, next time we just might have to have a hot breakfast on the boat, leaving the forbidden fruit to the fridge.

Thanks for the trip guys, looking forward to drifting with you soon

Chris

A "tidewater bright" courtesy of "Cartoon Man - does he fish?" on Saturday. Sound byte from the day as this battle begins: "Aw, it must not be very big," Nice job Fishin' Mission.

I spent the day on the bay yesterday dragging aroung a red/white spinner with a couple of my buds. On the runout the water was pretty murky so Braden tied on a chartruese/orange blade and out by the corner leading to the sheeps corral he swatted a nice hen around 20lbs.

30 minutes later as we're trolling out through the corral I got in on the action with a hen just slightly bigger.

We saw 4 other fish caught for 25-30 boats, all between the oyster house and the picket fence during the last part of the run in. Neither or our fish fought very hard, I assume due to cold water but other than freezing our ******* posteriors off I certainly can't complain.

This week I'm off to BC to fish with guide Vic Carrao, my first ever trip up there so I'll report when I get back. Tight lines.
