Lunar eclipse - other effects
Yeah, so I was in and out of the house a couple of times with the camera which is a little unusual. But even when I was just inside hanging out, my three dogs were pretty wound up. I probably let them out in the backyard four times, which is about three times more than a regular evening.
Anyone else observe any odd animal behaviors?

My Alapacs did their alpha male ritual. They don't do it very often.

My dog jumped the fence...again. She came back and was quickly ushered to the kennel for the night.

Re: Lunar eclipse - other effects
My neighbors dogs were barking, but thats not at all unusual...
Might have been because I was out looking at the moon near their fence.

Re: Lunar eclipse - other effects
we got a note on the door saying the dog whimpered and yelped most of the day...at least she wasn't barking?

Not so much the eclipse, but my wife works in one of the local schools and all the teachers mention behavior problems surrounding the full moon.

Re: Lunar eclipse - other effects
My dog slept in his kennel from 5:30 till about 9:45 last night. The only time I heard him was when he would change positions and fluff up the blanket in there. That is very strange for him.

Re: Lunar eclipse - other effects
when the wife and I walked out on the back deck just as it became 'total', we could hear coyote's howling down the canyon. not that we don't hear them every now and then, but they aren't necessarily a nighly treat.
I coyote's.

"Anyone else observe any odd animal behaviors?"
My nutty neighbor taped 8x11 pieces of paper on her front window, and yelled through the closed window at my wife, "Keep your dog out of the street"
Really, you guys should hang out on my front porch and watch her on a full moon.
My neighbor that is.

Re: Lunar eclipse - other effects
I was sitting on the front porch drowning a mouse in a bucket with a broomstick, when my dog barked once. She never barks. How's that for strange behavior?
Credit to David Sedaris for the above line. I paraphrased.

Get her a roll of tinfoil & tell her to make a cap & hang bowties of it from strings in her windows to keep "THEM" from taking controll of her mind.

Re: Lunar eclipse - other effects
Well,
I managed to get an 88 % on a pre algebra test after not taking mathematics/Pre Algebra in well over 20 years.
People that know me will understand that this is not normal, in fact, it is "Most unusual, and highly unlikely" as Dr Spok might say.
Look out remedial Algebra!
Can wait to be the only 40 year old in a huge class of kids that can do quadratic equations with both hands tied behind thier back.
Guess I should be glad for the eclipse, Sometimes Mother Nature gives us a bone & I'll take all the help I can get
