Default Giant Sturgeon

Don't know if this was posted before. I haven't seen it .

FYI: This sturgeon is still alive, just worn out from the fight. They turned it loose after the photo.

This Sturgeon was caught on the Willamette River just below OregonCitytwo weeks ago. It weighed out at over 1,000 lbs and measured out at 11'1".It was 56" around the girth, took over 6 1/2 hours and 4 dozen beers for the 4 guys taking turns at the reeling it in.
Any Sturgeon OVER about five feet has to be released unharmed and cannot be removed from the water. They are brood / breeding stock and probably older than most of us

It's been posted here many times and not true. It was caught on the Frazer River in British Columbia. I just got an email from a coworker last week about it and thanked him for keeping the legend alive.

This FRASIER RIVER Sturgeon was caught in 1999. The false story of it being in the Willamette has been circulating through e-mail for years, but it is not true.

Story

Since this isn't a salty story and it's known to be false, we don't need to discuss it further.
