Clam Gun
Thinking about buying a new clam gun. In my minds eye, it should be a 257 wby, or a 270.
It will have exceptional wood, and blued steel.
Since I already used the all around rifle excuse, there must be some positioning on the next purchase.
What say you?

Re: Clam Gun
Way overkill for clams - 22 should be fine - course if you trying to shoot them while they are still 9+" under the sand, you better opt for something crew served and requires a lanyard.
Milk Money and let the safe eat it

Re: Clam Gun
Ah...the age old question. Which clam gun to buy? As I explained it to my wife, it's difficult...no impossible...to get by with just one clam gun. Conditions vary. To cover all the bases you really need to get BOTH

Re: Clam Gun
My next clam gun will be a 270 WSM if it helps you any.
Theres something to be said for a 270 thats 200 fps faster than a 270. Not that the deer will care.

Re: Clam Gun
Be sure to select a caliber that will ensure a readily available supply of clammo wherever you might go.

Re: Clam Gun
MAN!!! You guys are BRAVE showing up on the beaches with those PEA SHOOTERS!!!
I'm old school and prefer the blade, but when I use a gun it's a MINUMUM of a 5.00 magnum (note decimal point placement) YES, a 5" GUN!!! You don't need to shoot it much, which is a good thing!
As for Clammo, it's a muzzle loader so it's fairly cheap to shoot. BAM!!!!!!...One shot, one kill!
Great thread!
