Columbia sturgeon report
OH MY GOSH!!!!! A wonderful guest of mine at the Lodge wanted to treat me to a day of guided sturgeon fishing, so off we went.
We fished out of the Fishery and had fish on all day! We went home with our limit, all nice big fat fish and left several other keeper fish up there. There were two other boats in the same spot and off they went with limits also.
The go to spot was near the **** hole, using quid and sand shrimp but smelt was also producing. I lost a BIG keeper and I almost cried, there will be another time.....
Get out there while you can, it was a BLAST!!! Tight lines, Kim.
(I am trying to make you guys think the edit took out the name of the hole, is it working?).

Re: Columbia sturgeon report
I was wondering how fast/deep the water is up there, I only have 300' of anchor rope. Would that be enough for that water?
Thanks,
TPM

Re: Columbia sturgeon report
We have been running 300 feet of rope up there lately. We have not had any problems. We have been doing most of our fishing in 45-65 feet of water. With the low flows, the current has not been that strong. In fact, when searching for a place to fish, you sometime have to search to find enough current.

Re: Columbia sturgeon report
No fish on a rope. 20 shakers and a huge incoming tide. The river reversed and went uphill. One fish was 41".
Tomorrow, I'm going to the fishery and give that a try.
