Default Shed hunting

Ok, everyone talking about hunting sheds is getting super jumpy. Im sitting here in the library trying to do my Econ homework, but all i can think about is when the next time I can get out into the woods is!! I went out last weekend to look for sheds, was pretty unsucessful. Only thing I saw was a few piles of poo.

Anyways, the point Im getting at is...

Does anyone want some company hunting for sheds?
Im a nice guy, dont bite, lot of fun... So basically, if anyone is willing to take me out with them, I would really appreciate it!!!

Thanks

Cliff

Cliff, I think part of the point of shed hunting is to learn your spot, find out what's living there, etc. Kind of a personal thing. My suggestion would be to go to your hunting area and scour it for sheds and keep the info to yourself, but share the photos of the sheds with us!

Hey Cliff, I can give you a few pointer...

While you can find a shed most anywhere, there are places that seem to produce much better than others..

I hunt mainly the foothills on the east side of the valley...Work out the top of a ridge and hunt the top half of the southern side...The south side that gets the most sun is usually best....We like oak thickets mixed in with firs and meadows ...You have to look close and it will take a while to develope a eye for it....My brother Ken can spot one tine of a old shed barely sticking out of the grass at 30 yards, while the next guy can trip over a freshie without noticing..Like anything else, the more you do it the better you will get...

It looks like its going to be a nice day today and the weather taking a turn for the worst later....I think I will go out and test my theory..

Post pics when you find something and good luck...

I Agree With Dave, Finding Sheds Is A Byproduct Of A Good Scouting Outing, Its Nice To Get Back To Your Spots And See Whats Moving And Hopfully Find A Shed Of The One You Missed, I Heard But I'm Realy Not Sure How True It Is, That A Black Tail Only Migrates A Few Miles Form The Place It Was Born, So Chances Are That The Buck That Dropped The Horn Is A Local And Will Still Be In The Area Next Fall.
