Great American Bird Count

Please get involved and do this! It's fun and it helps!
Has anyone ever done it online?
I'm going to, this year!

Re: Great American Bird Count
Cool! I was actually thinking about going out to the wildlife refuge today to look around. I guess I can bird watch right here at home, though.
Just put a fresh feeder of sunflower seeds out, and the nuthatches are loving it.

Re: Great American Bird Count
In my backyard, I spotted 5 housefinches, one lonely goldfinch, 7 juncos, 1 song sparrow, 4 house sparrow, 20 bushtits, 3 starlings, 3 Anna's hummingbirds and a squirrel in my 15 minute window.
I took a little photo trip to Ridgefield and spotted some new birds for me.
Red Breasted Sap Sucker
Northern Shoveler
And American Bittern
Good day for the birds!

Re: Great American Bird Count
Pete do you have a bird zoo in your back yard? Impressive.

Re: Great American Bird Count
Yes, I always try to participate. What a great deal, I learned a new bird - the brown creeper - and saw a pair of pileated woodpeckers that I wouldn't have been looking out for otherwise.
Pretty cold here, though, not a lot of birdly activity.

Brown Creeper ... not a very good picture, but I saw one of those, too!
