oakies???
I have often heard of "oakie drifters" but must admit I don't know what one is?
From what I understand they are somewhat vintage, and I have only been steelheading since 95' so they may be before my time? I have some small bobbers, and corkies that look like rasberries, that were given to me by my wifes grandparents. Look below and tell me what I got.
Thanks

Re: oakies???
From what I can remember my dad using oakies were much the same as a corkie.

Re: oakies???
Looks like you got yerself some oakies, corkies and some little bobber thingies. The oakies are the raspberry looking things, the corkies are the round ones with the small holes. I've never used those bobber lookin thingies, so I don't know if they're just a bobber or used like a corkie.
Oakies are used pretty much like corkies, but they can be put on your leader upside down or rightside up (which is which? ) to impart different action. I always used oakies with yarn, although you could use them with bait if you wanted to.
They will catch feesh - good luck!

Re: oakies???
Seeing the pink pearl oakies you have there prompts me to ask if anyone has seen these for sale anywhere. I heard they were discontinued. Any help out there?

Re: oakies???
I think I have found a possible source for Okie Drifters, though I have not verified they have any in stock yet, or whether the place is operating, here it is: www.theonlinetacklebox.com
Other than that try E-bay, once in a while you can find some. good luck
Mike

Re: oakies???
Hey Fish Hunter, I know where you could buy several hundred okies for a lot less money than the tackle WEB Site. The only down side is there are no pink nail polish ones. Let me know if you want the name of the tackle store.
