I posted this on the other forum but you might not see it there. There used to be a fly fishing guide (don't remember his name) who worked out of a fly shop in Welches, Oregon. He did fly casting seminars at a community college on the east end of Portland. Don't know if he still guides out of that shop but you might want to give them a call. I won't tell you the fly shop name as the moderators will probably delete it but it is a brown building with some big blue lettering on the front. Hope this helps. Good luck. Have fun with the sockeyes. There a blast to catch.

If your talking about Mr. Lauzon, he was great in helping us out.

I think the guy you're talking about in Welches is George Cook. He works out of The Fly Shop and is a Sage rep. Not sure he's still guiding/teaching. He taught me a LOT when I fished with him over about a six year period on Izaak's Ranch in eastern Washington. He's one of the best fly rod casters I've ever seen, and a lot of fun to fish with. Run a Google Search for George Cook and Welches and he'll come up, I'm sure.

PCC offer an intro to fly fishing class and it's not a credited class. Call the local flyshop because most offer beginner classes.

I'm pretty sure George Cook does not work out of The Fly Shop in Welches. He is the rep for a lot of great companies however, so I'm sure he has put on a class/seminar or two. I've fished Izaac's a couple of times, that place is awesome.
