Default Bobber fishin in Tidewater?

I spent Sun & Mon on the Alsea tidewater watching boats in my very near vacinity catching Salmon. Sunday was my very first time fishing tidewater but I talked to a very nice guide (cant remember his name) who helped me get set up. I basiclly watched what others were doing and tried to do the same. I fished eggs and shrimp with some Mikes scent at about five feet depth on the ebb and outgoing. Is there something else i need to do or was it just a couple of slower days. Any bobber fishing/salmon tricks?

Take your eyes off that bobber. If you turn your back that float is sure to go down.

before you take your eyes off your bobber, make sure you're hook is sticky sharp and the point is just sticking out from your bait. that way, it'll hook itself while you're not paying attention. worked for me last year.

80 lb tuff
50 lb leader
double 6/0
change depths often
moving or static fish ?
scents work
big baits catch more fish
calibrated bobbers, fish are neutral bouyant
Other attractors beside shrimp?
Reel down till you feel the fish, then swing
biters will keep biting if not stung
dpn't be afraid to fish the stumps & sticks
Chinook are like cattle, same path every day
never put your bow anchor in a strangers boat
24 yrears and I'm still learning things....good luck..........o'h , and there's no such thing as a net thats too big

Well that's just great fishbait, you just singlehandedly caused the extinction of the coastal fall chinook. Are you proud of yourself??

Geesh Fishbait, I think that you just wrote the book, "Bobber Fishing For Dummies" You made it so simple sounding that I think I might give it a try.

Don't get too excited Grant, it's bobber fishing for dummies not bobber fishing for brownies

I must be a serious dum*** because I still can't catch anything other than a bullhead out there. I went back yesterday and got the old skunk. I even tried to not look at the bobber . I thought for sure I would this time cause I forgot the net.
