Finally my first springer (2004)
Well, almost!
My dad and I fished over by Saint Helens today. It was cold but the fishing was good. I seen 6 springers caught and a hand full of others break off. I finally got one on and fought it to the boat, he was tired and just needed a gentle scooping so my dad did the honors (Keep in mind my dad hasn't held a net for a year now so he's a little rusty) he takes a stab at it and hits the spinner first and knocks the darn fish off.......errrrrrr! I just screamed I can't believe my dad stabbed my first springer (2004) off.
I'm going back tomorrow, the fish are there. I seen the lions eat all day.
If your coming out tomorrow look the H. lines and turn up the heater.

Ahh, don't be too hard on your Dad...
Most likely if it came off that easy, it wasn't hooked that good, and another run it would have come undone.
And besides, some times the-one-that-got-away story is better than the story of the one that made it to the table

Re: Finally my first springer (2004)
Iv’e netted hundreds of fish over the years I am not trying to brag and I would like to say that I never knocked a fish off., but my son in law would tell you that wasn’t the truth. In fact I have knocked two fish off in all of the years that I have fished and both fish were on my son in laws pole..I was so anxious for him to land a fish that I got in to big of a hurry and stabbed at them when they were to green .They were his first and second fish.

Re: Finally my first springer (2004)
I knocked my buddies VERY large chinook off outside of Westport a few years back. Somehow he never forgets to mention it every year to remind me. I think I've re-lived that moment too many times.
I promise I won't do it again!

Re: Finally my first springer (2004)
I took a friend out fishing in the ocean in MY BOAT about ten years ago. He hooked into a 50# chinook. He bought the pole, reel and line in a garage sale (whatever he paid, it was too much). His diver plus leader and flasher was about 10 ft in length. I couldn't reach the fish with the net so he backed up across the boat. When the fish dived under the boat and broke the questionable line, he blamed me for knocking the fish off with the net. He has reminded me of this every time I see him.

Re: Finally my first springer (2004)
I fished with BOE in tidewater, he hooked a fished and got to the boat, and I stabbed at that fish several times trying to get it to come off, but couldn't. Apparently he had it hooked too good, roy wouldn't let me try again

About 12 years ago, I knocked off a big fall chinook trying to net it for a friend on Three Rivers.
It happens to all of us. Hopefully, I'm not due anytime soon.

can you imagine meeting your sweetie on ifish? How cool would that be? Now i now I'm jumping the gun Will Robinson, but it may be a great way off this baren planet. I'd say try and get it down to a 6 minute mile and let the chip fall where they may.

Hey Dampainter I posted a link that lists all the boat ramps on this thread!
If you want I could take you out when fishing picks up... probably some time in March would be better.

Re: Finally my first springer (2004)
That's a tough feeling. Just be happy you've got a hook into a springer. It takes a lot of heart to start this early. Most people won't even start the springer fishing until March... Your time will come, just stay after them.

Sara,
We'll give you girls a time to remember, Fishnxtc is making a break into directing. This might be a good opportunity to shoot some footage. Will you and your friends be OK with a video camera on board? Nice looking Steelhead (avitar) you should post that picture so I can get a better look at it  do I hear a second on that ?

OK
Here's the picture of that Steelhead I caught last year. I look like crap here but who cares it's just fishing.
I'm was very happy with this one, I'm hoping to catch as many fish as Jenny does. It seems like she's the only girl here that catches steelhead.

"Sara,"
We are so very happy you were never once a bottled blond who began their ascent to current legendary status fishing boat ramps. They are OK too.
That would indeed be weird.
Looks like you are real though and know some very good people, albeit not everyone out there appears to have your best interests in mind. I knew who you are, thus my Danger, Will Robinson response.
Nice bass.
Ian - I told you them Banjo Minner's would work.

Re: Finally my first springer (2004)
This post was not cute or funny at all. Have another beer and get sick all over yourself, who(m)ever is behind this. Very typical and pathetic actually.
