Default Can you crab at night?

Is it legal to crab in the bay's at night from a boat? The regulations say you can leave your pot's out overnight. But can you pull them? Just trying to stay out of trouble Had friends that use to do this years ago, but ya never know!

Assuming your talking about Oregon, I believe it is legal.
I have done it, if you spend a night on the coast, you can see the crabbing fleet a within a few miles of the shore.

We use glow sticks to easily find our buoys.

I hope so. I do it from time to time. Be careful of floating line as it can snarl you up and create a really bad situation very quickly.

Yes in Oregon. We have left pots over night a few times.sometimes they have come up empty after a 12 hour soak.

Big boys feed at night! Fresh loaded bait is the ticket! With good placement you can end up with results like this!!

Yes. And it is fun. But be careful of full throttle in the dark. Sometimes things that look like water really aren't. Came close to finding out first hand.

The best part is you can set your pots in shallow water if you want. After dark the crabs don't care how deep the water is.
