I've heard that the fishing has picked up, but no first hand knowledge here.

Good luck!

IF the winds are down
&
IF the water levels don't change
&
IF you're not locked into fishing dry flies....
you may have some good fishing times.
It's been warming up, the river is thawing out, the winds have died down (this week anyway), & they haven't dumped water from the dam yet...
all is well.
Later,
Peter

It's going to be a beautiful weekend. I'll probably be taking my boys over there one day this weekend as well. Might actually be kind of crowded because of the weather.

I fished it yesterday. I caught one squaw fish on a bead head gold ribbed hares ear. I did not get any trout. I did not see any bugs to speak of. The weather sure was beautiful though. I fished around 3 in the afternoon.

Hi Joss - I was out on the Crooked with my 10 year old yesterday for his first time fly fishing. I didnt string up my rod because I was "helping" him. I did manage to use his rod to throw a BWO at a lone riser and hooked a nice 13" acrobatic rainbow. As the day got later and my son's frustration mounted, he was finally rewarded with a hook up with a nice rainbow on a rubber legged prince. As my son spazzed out (as we all did with first fish) and struggled to keep his line tight, the fish came unbuttoned right at our feet. What a beautiful day it was on the water.

Thats great, I guess thats why the call it fishing and not catching. I fished below my son hoping to find some fish to move him into but it did not happen. Ohwell his casting was pretty good and he only had two tangles, man they were good ones so I was able to laugh at/with him and give my rod to him and continue on...... Its a great river for the kids to fish, especially when the fish are active......
