Pain is my friend
Last night my wife asked me for some help in her storage unit. Apparently there had been a leak on an upper floor and water had ran down to the lower units and soaked the floor. Luckily nothing was damaged, but in an attempt to keep from having any problems in the future, we decided to put pallets down on the floor and stack the boxes on top of them.
It seemed like such a good plan at first.
I grabbed a couple of unused pallets from work and we went and emptied the unit, layed the pallets and started refilling it. About 2/3 of the way thru, I stepped on one of the boards and it snapped and I came down on my ancle at a bad angle. Oh look at the stars
First was the pain, then the lightheadedness, the sick to the stomach feeling and instant swelling. I'm sure I said a few choice words but I don't remember. My wife looked at me and said I was white as a ghost.
"Gee, thanks, I'm glad you find this humorous"
About 15 minutes later I was able to help refilling the storage unit and we headed home. A couple ibuprofen and an ice pack while I watched "Deal or No Deal"
Today my ancle is swelled to the size of a softball and I walk like Festus but I am walking so that's a plus.
I've had bad ancles since I was a kid, broken the right one twice, so this isn't anything new for me it's just that as I get older, they take longer to heal, and they seem to hurt more when I turn them, or maybe I'm just getting soft.
