Rescue Tape?
At the sportsman's show, I stopped at the Rescue Tape booth for the first time ever. According to the highly energetic sales guy, the stuff works miracles. It will patch hoses, you can make O-Rings, and even make a temporary fan belt. The show price was $25 for 3 rolls. I may have been more tempted to purchase some had the guy not been so in my face. Has anyone bought and/or used this stuff. If it works as claimed, I'm thinking it might be a nice addition to my off shore McGiver box.

Re: Rescue Tape?
Sunday it was only 20.00 for three rolls. My uncle bought some.

Re: Rescue Tape?
It is good stuff. I use it to seal up coax connectors on the boats I visit. It is basically self vulcanizing silicon tape. They have it at Home Depot in the plimbing section - its white and not near as thick but it works

Re: Rescue Tape?
Chrome if you want some I will order it for you at 20.00 per three rolls. Like I said the my uncle bought some and the guy said he will sell it for the same price plus shipping. I was thinking about getting some also. The claims he made for the stuff are impressive, at least to me. Or if you find his web site just tell him you paid 20.00 for three rolls at the show?

Re: Rescue Tape?
I bought some at the Sportsman's show about 4 years ago for emergencies. "Knock on wood", I never had to use it, but glad I got it.

Re: Rescue Tape?
Kerry you better pick up some of that new putty they are advertising on TV that sticks to anything, plugs anything and doubles as chewing gum if you add citric acid to it.

Re: Rescue Tape?
I used it to repair a power steering hose at the pressed fitting a couple weeks ago right after I bought it at the San Mateo Sportsmens show. It was a lifesaver in the middle of the night at the side of the freeway. It lasted for better than two weeks before I got around to getting my rig (F-250 crew P-stroke) in the shop. I bought three rolls for each of my boats at the next show.

Re: Rescue Tape?
rescue tape vs duct tape.....whats the difference? I have used the basic grey duct tape for years as a "fix all". Even patched a canoe with it.
What does this "Rescue tape" have that duct tape doesnt? Curious as never heard of this rescue tape before.

- Is Self-Fusing! Self-Bonding!
- Incredible 700 PSI Tensile Strength!
- Insulates 8,000 Volts per layer!

Rescue Tape has infinite uses! Here are just a few suggestions: - Keep it on board vehicles & equipment for emergency hose repair!
- Seal leaky hoses, pipes, tubing, lines, & fittings
- Neaten up lines and extension cords in stowage
- Wrap tools and handles for a GREAT non-slip grip
- Wrap wiring harnesses and custom split-looming
- Waterproof electrical connections and terminals
- Use it as an emergency fan belt!
- Make emergency O-Rings
- Wrap hydraulic fittings and other exposed metal connections to help prevent corrosion
- Works even over wet, dirty, or oily surfaces!
- Use it as a tourniquet or emergency wrap over bleeding injuries
- Wrap it around ANYTHING that you want secure, and it will never leave any sticky residue

Thanks Kerry, would you go ahead and ship those to me? Hate to admit this but I already have a Banjo Minow Kit so could you send something else in its place.
I'll leave ya alone now brother. You seem a little tense.

Three rolls in a year...
Care to list a few more things you have used "Rescue Tape" on?
Sounds like handy stuff to have around.
