Default Any G20 or IS 300 Owners?

If so, how do you like it? Any problems? Thinking hard about the G20 for my son to use to go to college in the fall. Until then I can drive it around town.

180K miles on a 1994 G20. Have only replaced the clutch and front shocks so far as major items. This car has been very reliable. I like it a lot and it drives very well. My other car is a 2002 tii.

There is a on line community for G20s at:

www.g20.net

If you can find a good one, they are great.

My brother has an IS300 and sister has a G35. Both seem to have no problems and reliable. The IS300 is a small car, but has a great interior.
The engine has a long history of reliability, dated back in 1993 with the sc300 and supra n/a.

G35, IMO is has a more luxurious interior, more power, and better gas mileage.

G20, while a long distance cousin of the G35, also has a proven reliability record. It is powered by the sentra 2.0 engine.
The G20 would get great gas mileage.

If I had to choose a more reliable car out of the two, I would get the Lexus. It's built better, although, for the price, the G20 is hard to beat.
But if you can afford the IS300, the G35 is a better buy.

Cool site. Thanks. Trying to contact someone selling their car now. Also looking at an 01 with 59k miles for about 7500.00. Seems like a good deal.

I like the Lexus better but after giving it some thought think it's a bit much for an 18 year old to be driving. Plus the power and power is not what a just new to driving teen needs imo.

Well...You might want to car fax it.

It can mean the difference between a good used car and a really bad car.

With the gas prices these days, it might be a good idea to get a 4 cylinder. It costs less to operate and for maintenance than the Lexus. I'm willing to bet gas prices will go to $4 a gallon not too long from now. Sometimes I wish I had a small economical car that can get me to work and back. When I was in college, i would do my best to save as much money as I could (as most college students are poor), so a 4 banger isn't a bad idea. Lots of good cars out for the young adult market (Scion cars, Honda civic & Fit, Toyota Corolla) that can be economical and has enough room for cargo.
