Default Silver Lake Crappie

Has anyone hit Silver Lake for crappie this year? The canals should be ready for some C&R fun. I'd appreciate any updates!

Silver picks up for crappie around March 15th. I start catching the crappie at night under lights on docks on the main lake! Easter is the time to hit the canals.
Hope this helps!

Ok that helps. The Silver Lake I know is in central Oregon and dry! I was wondering if I had missed something.

Yes the Silver Lake we have been talking about is an
hour drive from Portland. It is 3000 acres and is well known for bass and crappie.
My personal best crappie day on silver is 800 in one day. But fall is by far the best time to fish for crappie on Silver Lake.

It's one of my all time favorite bass lakes. Caught some big crappie by pure chance. Once in a while I get a 14-16 inch crappie to hit my bass lure. I could live there and die happy.

Is the silver lake motel dock open to the public or do you have to stay there in order to fish off the dock?

if your asking for a pattern they are on when the weather is acting...i can give you an answer.

when the sun is out in the summer thats the best crappie fishing. they are STACKED!!! LOADED!!! under all the docks on the island. get under there with a bobber and work with about a 1.5'-2' drop and your good to go. i prolly caught 100+ in about and hour one day seriously. and thats not including the blue gill i caught either.

thanks, pitch

Good Luck

Also is that using the same rubber jigs you would use in winter
or are you tossing worms at them
in my experiance i know bluegills and perch dont really hit
jigs that well unlike the crappie
but with worms that is a differant story
