Trophy sized salmon in the NW this year
It would be nice to hear about certain catches of large salmon so far this fall - and other trophy ones as they continue to come in.
In Washington there has been noted catches of 24 lb. and 23 lb. silvers caught on the outer Oly Pen. And many around 20 lbs. all over the NW this fall. Someone posted an ODFW pic of a 30.6 lb. hawg coho buck which had been trapped in the NF Clackamas fish separater (hats kept, nates released to spawn up the trib).
How about the hawg chinooks? The biggest I have heard of being caught so far this fall was a 71 lb. Tillamook 'nook, apparently varified. There was a rumor several weeks ago about a Col. chinook caught that weighed around 80 lbs., but I never heard varification of that one; and don't expect it. Many have been caught in the 50's and a few in the 60's. What have you guys heard or seen out there so far?
No need of 19 ft. sturgeon stories.
