Default Low use cell phone provider

Hi all

My wife and I have a pair of phones and she NEVER uses hers I know a women who does not use the phone.....

Anyway we have found that one is not enough just for when she is on trips or whatever so we really need 2 phones.

Can anyone recommend a low use or maybe prepaid or something like that??

My contract is up and I prefer to stay with who I am on so I don't get sucked into another 2 years.

Anyone have an idea??

Thanks all

I use a tract phone. Costs about $100 a year. After you get started, they will send a special every so often.

how low use are we talking? we use a Verizon family share plan. I pay for my block of minutes and get to share it with up to five lines (phones) at $10 a month per phone. Nationwide coverage with calling anywhere in the US.

Prepaid cell phones or cricket would work. Down side to cricket is low coverage though.

Prepaid Cell phones is what I do for a Living the company I work for handles the Recharges and credit card orders to pre paid phones. Stay away from ATT wireless (cingular) horrible cust care they could care less if they could keep you as a customer some other sap will take your place. Also stay away of Track phones poor quality phones and for the money you are not getting good coverage. the best two out there is T-Mobile Pre paid you can pay 100 bucks get 1000 minutes and they are good for a year. If they don’t last a year then add more if they last the year add another 25 bucks and they will all roll over for another year cant beat that in my book. also Boost mobile( Ghetto phone) ran by Verizon offers good coverage and from my experience offer good customer service. Hope that helps you can go wrong with prepaid as long as you pick a good company

Ohh and untill we went with a Family plan from sprint we had Tmobile prepaid so I work with them yes but I am also a customer

I have Verizon service here in Corvallis. It serves me well. My wife has similar cell phone needs as your wife's. I bought a ATT GoPhone a couple of years ago. For $25. you get 100 minutes. If you don't use it all in a year, it expires. All we do is pay another $25. before it does expire and it adds 100 minutes to your balance for another year. We've had no problems with it. Maybe Portland/Vancouver doesn't have as good of coverage as we do in Corvallis. Here's the link. MB.

Does t-mobile give you a phone also? I've had tract phones for maybe 6 or 7 years. They offer free ones nearly every year but I'm only on my second because the number changes with each phone. I've used it in Alaska, Ca, Nv,Wash, out in the ocean. Always get good reception but if there is something better, I would certainly change. I mostly just use when traveling or out of the area. Keep it in vehicle for emergencies.

I've got a t-mobile prepaid. works for us since I've used about 300 minutes in the past 5 months. I get service in the areas I need it, and in the areas I don't get service, I don't want it anyway (fishing, etc)

I've been using Tracfone for two years now. The first phone really was crap- but they just upgraded the service from analog to digital and gave away free phones-I've always kept same number- new phone works great!
Minutes roll over- the phone says right on it how much time you have left.
The coverage seems fine to me. Add minutes online with ease. Perfect for light user IMO.
