Turtle swims from Indonesia to Oregon

This turtle was tracked with a satellite tag. Little bugger swam from Indonesia to Oregon and decided to head to Hawaii. 647 Day voyage, 12,447 Total Miles.

I've seen one of those leatherback turtles two years ago. What a site. They are amazing. Kind of looks like a VW floating in the water.

I saw and photgraphed one of these leatherback turtles last summer during the Garibaldi OTC event. It was HUGE. It was eating a big jelly fish, which I guess is what brings them up the OR/WA coast each summer. Here's a couple pics I took.
