Default North Fork Lewis

Has anyone put much time in here lately? I haven't for awhile, but I know that the second run of fish should be anytime now. Looking forward to glo stuff on Nov. 1 and chasing the usually bigger fish but smaller numbers next week. From the recent rains I figured this river would be pumping fish out, but I read in another thread that the netters have been working 5 days a week in the Columbia. What's up with that anyways, just how many pounds of fish is enough? I know that a living must be made, but what about the sport industry? We should be allowed another crack at em, since most Oregon streams and rivers close very soon.
Good luck,

Chris

Thumper & Dawhunt,

Tommorow being Thursday, don't they still lower it to count redds like earlier in the season? When do they begin to raise the water again? I thought I remebered a time when thay stopped this for the year, but I thought it was after night fishing began. Seriously would appreciate a good bit of info tho. It makes the drive from Milwaukie worth it to fight some newer Lewis fish, providided they are there. As long as Jack says to stay away, I know to fish elsewhere . Thanks for the new reports when you post'em .

Good fishing,
Chris

Oooooh....good point about the river level dropping......hmmm. Well, I called the info line (800-547-1501) and they didn't say anything about dropping it, and they would, wouldn't they??? I'll try to reach Rob Nicolay to find out. His number at the hatchery is 360-225-2120.

And Will_e_fish, no I never get grumpy. I am actually nearing perfection. Just ask two ex-wives.

Thumper,
Is that the rather large fellow who lives behind the hatchery? He has talked to me for the last couple of years, and the stories that guy can tell. I wish you luck if they don't drop the water, and if they do I hope you catch it on the rise. I might headed up on Thursday for some afternoon/evening fishing out of the boat. I think I'll try a call up there. Thanks for the #'s.
Let there be fish.....on,
Chris

Just a quick report for today. I fished below the hatchery with a sunrise okie and white yarn. Fished it with and without eggs. I didn't have any success. Saw two dark salmon caught, two chrome salmon caught, and one chrome steelhead lost. Good luck.
