I was over there today but did not fish. There literally people crawling each other. The weather was nice and the water came up about a foot. It still wasn't really fishable in my opinion and virtually all the fish that came up the fish ladder at the hatchery were dark. I would estimate that only 1 out of 20 fish was a possible keeper and that would be questionable at best. The water hadn't even risen enough to get into the grass and weeds that were growing in river bed which at this time might be considered bank.

Judging by the shape the fish were in I would hope people would excerise some common sense and not try catching fish that are so close to spawning. I don't know how tide water was for bright fish, but I can imagine a few came in. The vast majority of pressure was from the hatchery upstream above bear creek.

I fished below the hatchery and caught two bright fish with sea lice on them. Both fish weighed about 30 pounds each and both females. Water was low but fish were moving. Both fish were caught on a 12 wt. fly rod. I had a great day and it only took two hours. It was to short. It was my lucky day.
