Default got rim fires?

I bought this 22 mag last year in hopes of going rat shooting (which I haven't got to do yet.) Since I was a kid I always wanted a 22 mag but didn't like the single shot- then I found this remington and put a nice scope on it, I think it's pretty nice, fun as heck to shoot....But I know there are some pretty fancy .17's out there, and I saw some one had a 10/22 mag? is that a .17 or can you get that in a 22 mag? Anyway post a pict. of your rim fires, and tell me what it is. I don't visit this board much so forgive me if this is a beatin' to death kinda thread... Thanks Jim

I actually have a 10/22 mag that I converted to a 17 hmr. I used a butler creek conversion and had quite a bit of early problems with it (17) as it would sometimes stovepipe and have some light primer hits. I now have it about 95%+ fixed with various upgrades & tinkering where it will nearly shoot in the same hole at 50 yards. In all honesty I wish that I had never messed with it as the 10/22 mag is no longer made and is a gun that many people would like to get a hold of.

I also have an old bolt action 22 mag that have been very fond of...great rabbit & sage rat gun up to 150-200 yards...it got alot of use back before the 17 came out.

Great thread topic! I love rimfires, I think I might be slightly addicted, but don't tell my wife!

Currently I own a modded 10/22, a 17M2 converted from a 10/22 and a Marlin Bolt gun in 17 HMR. Love them all. I have another 10/22 build floating in my head, as well as the possibility of a suppressed Ruger MKII in the near future!

Pics will be attachments, cause I'm too lazy. 10/22 on my toolbox, Mach2 mocked up during the build, not quite finished, and the HMR up in the hills.

Thanks Allan, it's a 597 Magnum LS HB...it was the only 22 mag currently being made as far as my local gun store knew about...say they should have stocks for them soon ( pistol grip style, like the one on your tool box) got some extra clips incase they stop making them.
Sure are some sweet Rim Fires out there!
One of the funnest things about shooting them is being able to see what you hit thru your scope as you shoot.
Tom H, that is a nice stock!... nice gun

Dont think so. Its a better trigger than that (p.o.s) I'll get some photos tomorrow and show you hows it's done with a $20 trigger instead of a $90 headache. You should recall what that gun can do at 125 yards..

Eric I love that Kimber. I need to get a cool little rimfire. The one I have will shoot all day long with no questions asked but it is defiantly not a tack driver

And hunterXtreme That is one of the prettiest stocks I have ever seen rp

Thank you Ryan, it took quite a few hours to get the finish i wanted. It came from Richards VERY rough, lots and lots of sanding, but it turned out really nice and i love it, It is a straight shooter.

That last photo's the best. I don't have anything fancy, but whatever my two boys are shooting seems to be my favorite.

Ruger Mark III Hunter - 22 LR

CZ 452 American 17 HMR - Varmint - Cabelas Pineridge 6-18X40 (Dot)
NEF Sportster™ 17 HMR - BSA 6-24X50
Chipmunk 22 LR - Bushnell 2-7 (Rimfire)
Henry 22 LR - Youth Model - Leupold M8 4x (Dot) #1
Ruger 10/22 - Bushnell Banner 4-20
Ruger 10/22 - Bushnell 3-9

I just bought my 5 year old the second 10/22 - I received the first when I was 5...31 years ago...that doesn't sound possible.

I watched a sage rate video that spoke kinldy of the NEF Sporster in 17 HMR. I just sighted it in and the first 15 rounds shocked me. At 25 yards, 5 groups were all less that 3/8"! I can't wait to take it out to 100 yards.
