It's worth checking the weather before going and having a back up plan. The surf is forecast to be as high as 25 feet today, with winds up to 35 knots ... that should subside by Thursday, but it's well worth paying attention to. NOAA Synopsis A back up plan might include a river or two in the area where you might find some wind protected bobber or drift fishing.

You don't say where you are planning to go ... the bay is pretty big and the characteristics change from one end to the other.

I too am thinking of heading there this week, and was wondering if the oysterhouse/picketfence area is very affected by bad weather? I hit it for the first time last Sunday, and although we didn't get fish, I feel pretty confident about a hook-up soon.
Any weather reports for thursday thru sunday? Has anyone hit any bright fish above tidewater yet? Just cruisin for a back-up plan. We also fished Woods last Saturday, and it seemed to be a lot more fish on the Tillamook side of things.

Thanks for the help,

Chris

FWF1,
Confidence is a good thing. The Oyster House and Pickett Fence can get just about as nasty as other parts of the bay. If it gets real nasty you might need to head up tidewater a ways for some protection. Thursday and Friday look calmish...but sounds like It's going to be WET on Saturday and Sunday. There are good fish throughout the system now. See ya out there.

chinook,
I am thinking of going down to T-bay and trying to learn the upper bay tommorrow or Friday. I have a 16' lodge series smokercraft and 3 comfy seats, Yet I can not find any takers to go with. I just had knee surgery and want to find a little help with the net.

Joe, We'll be there too. Look for a 16' Smokercraft Stilletto. Got a couple of Yamahas hanging off the back. I'm on CB 12 or VHF 16. Good luck
