Default More Silvers for the Clack & Sandy?

So what's the word - does anyone have an opinion they can back up? Are there still significant numbers of silvers to come or is it just going to be a trickle of mostly native latecomers? The Sandy at Dodge pretty much died off in terms of numbers as everything headed up and there's not much water to bring others in. But it feels like things are totally winding down unless you want to fish with everyone else at cedar creek or for darkies on Eagle Creek. What do you guys think?

Well...I been scratching my head over this year's coho run. Can't give you my opinion on the Sandy River. The Clack??? Well...I didn't give it a whole lot of time this year, and maybe that's where I might have been missing out. I just didn't see alot in the area that I usually fish (Compared to the last couple of years)...or enough to convince me to fish there alot. They were saying something about 60,000 returning, but I don't think that many are there. Haven't been out in a week or two, but I might give it another shot Tuesday, or Wed...just to recover from fishing withdrawals.

Word is that the salmon have been getting commercially gillnetted 5 days a week in the lower Columbia for awhile. Since that began, most of the tribs have gotten much less fish.

It's the same story on the Lewis. An expected huge run of coho hasn't showed up. Looking at my records, this same weekend last year we hammered the silvers on the Lewis. Saturday the best I could manage is one "fish on" which promptly got off. Increasing the netting days to 5 per week vs. 2 or 3 per week last year creates a logical explanation to me. The netting pressure seems to be even more intense this year with more commercial fishers participating in the extended season. Its enought to tick me off.
