Default Odd crabs

Hello all:
Any of you ever get any odd/unusual crabs while crabbing Tillamook or Netarts? I am curious about what crabs other than dungeness, red rock, and sheild backs might be around. NOT looking to catch and eat them, just curious about what else is out there. Thanks.

I found a European Green Crab this summer in Yaquina bay while pumping sandshrimp. The crab was under some sea weed. I noticed it had a tag in it, so I took down the # and contacted the ODF&W. This crab was tagged in 97 or 98, it was part of a study to see how fast they grow. The biologist I talked was upset that I let it go, She wanted it so she could get ts weight and measurements.
European green crabs are non-native and are a threat to native shellfish. Red Rock crabs are helping to keep the population in check. Red rock crabs kill and eat the green crabs.
I guess you can say I have found an unusaul crab.
Look them up on-line, So you can identify them and kill them if you catch some.

Green crabs are serious business and the info was out several years ago to confiscate
the crab if you found one. They are known to decimate the Dungeness. They are tracking where they are turning up and how fast they multiply.
