Default Convention Update

“It was a dark and stormy night.” Remember that line from the movies? Well, it pretty much describes the weather on Saturday when a group of Salty Dogs traveled to the coast to make some final plans at the convention center in Seaside. A big thanks to Ron Mason, Mike Larson, George Taylor and Dan Mitchell for making the trip in such bad weather.
There is a lot of excitement about the Salty Dogs Convention from the local communities. The Seaside Signal Newspaper has interviewed Mike Larson about the convention and some of the programs that will be presented. The Daily Astorian’s “Weekender” will feature an interview with Ron Mason, Ed Keene and Mike Larson in next Thursday’s edition.

Here are a few of the great programs being offered. “View from the freighter’s helm,” presented by Captain Johnson; “Marine Reserves,” presented by Onno Husing, John Holloway and Patty Burke; and “Terrafin & Pilars’s Voodoo Fishing Techniques,” presented by John Wells. And - at the “Meet & Greet” event there is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to fishermen from other ports.

Make your dinner reservation NOW the price goes up soon.

Don't Miss This Convention

Default Re: Convention Update

Lifes memorable moments,

Traveling to the coast during snow flurries to meet with Seaside convention center people for final layout plans and an interview with local media. Ron M and edsr sharing many memorable experiences, planning the upcoming convention, and hugging mom on her birthday was a memory to treasure.

The interview with a local magazine associated with the Daily Astorian went well. Exposure for ifish, the Salty Dogs, Ocean, and a myriad of impact this convention touches on is the gist of the interview, very positive for the Dogs and ifish. Marine reserves is a hot topic with coastal towns. The commaraderie of the dogs " leave no one behind" was emphasizedized, and education for ocean impact and safty were interview themes. This event is being warmly welcomed by local media. Locals are welcome for the trade show and programs.

The Salty Dog tradition started by a few good hearted individuals is becoming an impact on the Pacific NW.
