Default Propeller Meadows

Not sure if OPB repeats Oregon Field Guide but they had a segment on the 1944 plane crash in the Pueblos this week that is pretty interesting.

Anybody else been to the crash site? Still lots of airplane strewn about. I walked thru it the day I killed my California Bighorn. (That is a hint for anybody who draws a East Beatty's sheep tag BTW.)

Not very many. In a week of scouting and 5 days of hunting for my ram I think I saw 5 bucks. On 3 antelope hunts since I can think of 2 bucks.

I hear there used to be a few deer in the Pueblos?? It's too bad cause it sure likes like a good place for them.

I hunted around Pueblo Mt. in 2006 on my antelope hunt. I probably saw an average of 10 deer per day, but all the bucks were tiny little forked horns. Not one buck bigger than a yearling. I assumed that was just because I was looking for antelope and not hitting the best deer areas.

Bow season opened on the weekend during the hunt and 2 or 3 camps of bowhunters showed up. After a couple of days they were all asking me if I'd seen any deer because they were getting the same results I was.
