I'm sorry, but you can be happy with table scraps. Personally, one day I am going to be sitting at the head of that table; me, the sports angler.

That was, before the war started. Now, there's no telling what is going to be passed under the table since our main focus is on Afghans.

I believe in sharing what resources are there, so I do spread the word when the fishing is good. And I always leave the Glock longslide at home.......but not the Kel-Tec .32.

From my perspective, it's just a fact of life and the relative changes that come along with it. I would bet even our fathers felt similar in circumstances within their prime. Kids don't know the difference, they only know what we teach them. If we grouse and grumble about the dougballs and the crowds, our kids will too. There is another side to the relative increase in use of the outdoors. In the same time that you've seen changes for the worse, you've also seen tremendous advances in your ability to reliably get to them, your ability to communicate, increased safety, etc. Think about the fact that our kids can hunt Turkeys (probabaly something most of our father couldn't do in the NW), and the rivers are cleaner then they've been in a long time (well, many of them anyway).

When you tell your grandkids about fishing and hunting back at the "turn of the century", they will probably be amazed at the lack of restrictions. In the future you will probably have to apply for a permit to fish on a certain day 6 months ahead.

Sometimes I think I was born 60 years too late.....but then again...
