Default TACKLE SWAP MEET!

Come by boat or car because the tackle swap meet is on the Clackamas river at Riverside Park. The date to mark on your calendar is Sat.,Nov 10, 12pm to 3pm.

I talked to the park caretaker today. He said that we can use the covered shelter area. But there is a catch! If you have lots of things your going to have to bring a table, because they put away their tables for the winter.

No potluck, but maybe we can grill some hot dogs and have coffee and cocoa. So bring your tackle or camping gear that you want to trade or sell Bring chairs too! Need to know how many people are bringing tables that need spots under the covered area.

Who is putting this on? Will it involve mostly salmon and steelhead gear or all outdoor stuff and fishing gear? Sounds like a great idea. Thanks for posting the information

Dot,
I can bring a picnic table and some chairs...if they will fit in my truck...I'll have to check first.

Looking forward to it and meeting all the Ifish folks. Can I spread the word to the public or is this just for Ifisher's?

You MUST, I repeat, MUST have an ifish ID card.
NOT!
I think it is open to any old buddy!
Let's make it a big one!
How fun!!!
Is Mark going to do a demo on how to tie or just how to fish them?
I am going to bring a table and chairs if you need them, and we need one of those huge coffee pots. Anyone have one? Or Fishrus, do you have this handled?
OH boy! A function that's not at my house!!!
I love it!

Jen

I think I can easily come up with a few items that I can part with. Is it OK if we share a table w/ STZ II? He and I go way back, and that will amke room for some other folks as well. Is camping gear OK, like a nearly new tent?

Is anybody with intimate knowledge of the value of real old tackle, including old classic bamboo flyrods, going to be there? If there is, I might bring these things that have been stored in my garage since my father-in-law passed on 6 years ago. Lots of inherited old classic trout and some old steelhead stuff. And my Dad gave me a couple old bamboo rods too. If you go to a dealer they typically tell you something like 'you would be lucky to get $40 for that; then turn around and price it out to collectors for $500 or more. ... Before he passed on, Larry had lost some mental sharpness and took his mint condition classic old Winchester cocking arm riffle, still in the original box, to a gun shop in Portland and 'talked' the guy into giving him $300 dollars for it. Larry was proud to have gotten that out of it. He didn't realize, as the shop dealer did, that it was worth many many times that amount. I didn't have the heart to tell him that though.

Steve, depending on what kind of rod they are like maybe Orvis,Winston and Leonard split-cane and depending of coure on condition they can be quite valuable. Bad thing about bamboo is the older rods can get a permanent bend in them. Old reels are a different story, pre-80's ABUs, pre-70's Garcia Mitchells, ZEBCO Cardinals, early Shimano Bantams,Hardy fly reels can all fetch a good price. Again depending on condition. I'm hoping to find a vintage ABU Ambassadeur 5001C but not having much luck. There is a big market for old fishing plugs also.
