Will ya quit???
There are no hard and fast rules to this board. We try for certain things. To keep it MAINLY a fishing board. To keep it MAINLY family oriented. To keep it MAINLY peaceful.
I enjoy an occasional non fishing subject.
Sometimes things are deleted or closed too fast. We make mistakes.
Only a few challenge these rules occasionally. I am not sure why they do as they do.
Use your judgement.
Sometimes we do non fishing posts.
Sometimes we don't.
Sometimes we do too many pictures.
Sometimes we don't.
Just as there isn't a perfect world, there is no perfect BB.
If you seek out trouble, you will find it.
If you seek out the good in things, you will find it also.
You can choose to be part of the problem, or help us out here by keeping a watchful eye, seeing who is making trouble, and who is making peace.
I try toseek out the good in everything I do.
You?
Jen

Re: Will ya quit???
That sounds good to me Jennie. I can't see how anyone can complain about those guidelines. I didn't see any other controversial threads so I read in some posts and found what you are likely talking about? It was probably about the non-fishing thread by FISHRUS with a picture of mushrooms in it and a member took exception to it because a couple of your moderators locked out other's non-fishng threads. Since you posted a couple times in that mushroom post I believe you are cincere about what you posted above. I know I like what you said above and would think most would also. If you have your moderators read your above post and be consistent I think they naysayers would quit, as you are asking. $.02 opinion.

Seems to me this is a cool site and I'm glad I found it. I read the agreement when I signed on and it seems reasonable to me. The mods do a pretty fair job based on other sites I've seen.

Re: Will ya quit???
Hey Jen! I'd like to complain that this post is not fishing related!
This is a great BB. Those who think otherwise always have the option of going elsewhere. I've noticed that those who complain still visit and post. What they complain about must not really be important to them if they continue to visit and post. Therefore, it must be that they just like to complain, and no matter what you do, they will. So if they will complain no matter what, who gives a rip what they think? If something is truly important to me, I vote with my feet.
Keep up the good work, Jen, and God bless you.

Re: Will ya quit???
There is a reason why some loudly quit, then meekly come back........it's a danged good BB, full of info and humor. Bob's BB is a good BB too, but the activity here is about three times the volume and that keeps things always changing and interesting. Congrats to Jennie and the moderators. Great job!

Re: Will ya quit???
jenny,
sounds like you're getting a little tense running things around here. one or two bad apples don't spoil the whole barrel. most of us are good folk, do as we're told and play by the rules. don't let the rest of them get you down.

Re: Will ya quit???
Jen,
There will always be people who cannot distinguish any shade of gray. They must have it black and white unless the gray area pertains to them.
It appears that some posters who mistakenly feel the fishing world revolves around them have evolved from posting useful fishing techs and advise, to trouble making and spiteful personal attacks. I for one am glad you have the strength to delete those posts without fear.
This board does have the best group of real folk that just want to talk about and improve their skills at plying the waters of the northwest. In that most people don't have the time (meaning they actually have a job) to devote full time to fishing, it is becoming more and more important to at least have an idea about how to be moderately successful. It helps promote the sport and the economy supporting it to have a safe place where people of all ages can have an exchange of ideas to help them actually catch fish. Sport fishing has been a "good old boy" network for too long.
You are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.

Re: Will ya quit???
Jennie you are never going to stop some people from posting items that have no business being posted in the first place. Just keep doing the excellent job you are doing and if you make a mistake its no big deal, we all make mistakes sometimes.
Now for all you ifishers i say this. Lets help out with this problem. If you read a post you dont like or agree with as it is non fish related don't respond to it. Thats one reason these posts keep appearing. Some people just like to create problems. I personally dont let any of them bother me, i just ignore them. I think we may all have posted something that was really not fish related and i dont have a problem with it. Its the childish bickering and nasty insinuations that are disturbing. Re: Will ya quit???
Jen perhaps the answer is a email from you or the mods to those that make the issues. Most of us read and post fishing related material with only occasional other posts. I personally look for up-to date fishing reports, a little comedy from the regs on bananas ect. What do you think? Fishing your area this weekend, hope to see you out there.
