Default A Great Night Of Insight!

I thoroughly enjoyed Jim Licatowich's (yes, I spell it differently every time) presentation last night. From the perspective of a Historian , Jim gave us a view of the salmon problems that began as far back as the mid-1800's and have compounded themselves since that time. His knowledge of both fish-history and fish-biology enables him to gather a 'full' view of the fish- problems and possible solutions that exist today. A very grounded and enjoyable man to listen to.

Looked like about 65 folks showed...saw some ifish names on the sign -in, too.

If you ever get the opportunity, give him a listen!!!

Mucho thanks Hogtide for posting the info about Jim's lecture here. I really enjoyed it and wouldn't have known about it otherwise. Also, enjoyed meeting some neighbors in the Scappoose Watershed Council and learning a little about their very worthy plans to improve habitat, as well as perhaps restore chum salmon.

Great evening. If you weren't there, don't pass up the next opportunity to hear Lichatowich. (In the meanwhile, buy his book Salmon Without Rivers)

Now that he's living in Oregon, I suspect there will be more local presentations.
